This games screwed after the layoffs. Got rid of some of their best talent in design and they're left with a hope and a dream with a game that's not nearly in a good enough state to cash in on yet. It now makes sense why they made the changes they did to monetization, they couldn't afford it. This game is likely to be what finally sinks Hirez.

This game fuels my ADHD. Thousands of hours, no sun, no sleep, kills gobs, kill elves, dig deep, die. Masterwork when???

Fun game found it far too easy though difficulty options would be nice to see in the future as well as achievements actually working. The only time I died was because I got distracted for a second by something irl that caused my guys to die while looting from an enemy i wasn't able to see.

Soldiers are a bit too strong (especially shotgun soldiers) rifle soldiers chew through ammunition, but shotgun soldiers can pretty much insta kill anything with an slightly upgraded shottie, they are EXTREMELY ammunition efficient (for example by the end of the game i had over a thousand rounds of shotgun ammo but barely 500 rifle rounds and not for lack of using them) On top of that even if there are ranged enemies you just plop them around a corner and it doesn't matter. Mixed opinion on turrets, pistols are pretty much trash and shouldn't be used. medics and engineers are pretty much only useful for random events and engineer for getting more loot. they're also required for the good ending.

Also found there weren't a lot of enemy types iirc i encountered quite a few different types but only in main story missions most of the time i only had maybe 5-6 different types. I'm presuming theres supposed to be more but my evolution bar never went above 1 bar so im assuming thats why found it so easy (bug?)

Theres also some weird pathfinding and aiming bugs that i found. I was shooting a rocket at eggs but the rocket wouldnt connect unless there were enemies on the ground nearby. Soldiers have problems pathfinding in a group through narrow corridors at times (you can't move through a square occupied by another entity) fixes to that to reduce micro would be appreciated. Soldiers would sometime have LOS on an enemy but a wall would eat 95% of the rounds fired which is annoying.

Overall 7.5-8/10 enjoyable game, rough around the edges a bit, found the game too easy for my liking. once you have understanding of the firepower of certain weapons its pretty much a cakewalk some balancing of the weapon types and ammunition gains as well as more enemies would be nice.
