Gameplay is ok, but the game runs really badly. It's not my systems fault either, i have a pretty good rig. You'd basically need a RTX8080 + i7-15700k to run this game at a decent frame rate, but that GPU/CPU doesn't exist yet, so RIP having good FPS.

So yeah, i wouldn't recommend this game until the performance issues gets fixed, but i don't think it will, since the devs seem more interested in making paid DLCs, instead of fixing the base game.

As of right now i can't recommend buying this unfinished game, unless it's like 90% off. The reason being is that the game hasn't been updated it about 8 months and the devs haven't been heard from for about 6 months, so i'm just going to assume the game is abandoned until we get some info from the devs (if we get info from them ever again)

This is very unfortunate since the game seemed to have potential to be a great game. Like the game currently is pretty good, but lacking in content, polish and balance.

But yeah i'm gonna down vote this game for now, i will change this if the devs actually come back someday and start working on the game again.

Pros:


- Interesting concept.

- Gameplay is fun for the most part.

- Is fun to play with friends.

- Has potential to be a good game

- WW1 DLC is more fun then the base game imo


Neutrals:

- The community is a mixed bag, some people are alright to play with and others are trolls or just generally stupid.

- Graphics are kind of average, but that's to be expected from a smaller developer, so not bad, but not really good either.

- Weapons and classes tend to feel a bit samey, it'd be nice if their was a bit more variety and perhaps having the different weapons of each nation perform a bit differently from each other. For example the Bristish muskets could be more accurate, while russian ones might deal more damage etc.

- Traits should matter more in general


Cons:


- Melee has poor hit detection, is buggy and generally feels clunky. i.e actually hitting an enemy sometimes does nothing and other times hitting the air in front of the enemy kills them.

- The guns way less accurate then the real life ones, which makes the shooting mechanics less about skill and more about luck, which is unfortunate.

- The menus are kind of buggy. For example the game kicks you out of the team or class you select sometimes.

- Lacks a progression system. It'd be nice if you could level up and unlock new stuff like cosmetics or alternate loadouts for each class.

- The performance is bad due to the recent DLC update. I hope they fix this.


**THE VERDICT**

Overall i'd give this game a 5/10. I'd only recommend getting this game on a 50% off sale in its current state.

Pretty good game tycoon, probably one of the best out of the current "Game dev" type games.

Building: Despite its simple appearance this game has plenty of depth when it comes to designing your very own airships, landships and buildings.

Combat: The combat itself is also quite enjoyable and there's a fair amount of different tactics you can used based on what you built, Bombers for example fly high above enemy ships and buildings, dropping bombs on them, while cannon ships are your more bog standard fighting craft that simply shoot away at the enemies.

Theme/Graphics: This game has a very steam punk and retro feeling. I think if this game released in the 90s it'd
easily be a top seller. Not to say it feels outdated or anything, that's just the vibe i get from the basic 8-bit-esque art style. The lighting on the other hand seems much more modern and vibrant then an actual 90s game.

Story/Lore: There is lore for the world, it's somewhat on the simple side, but it's interesting enough. There's no proper "campaign mode" to speak of, but it does have an empire building mode where you go around conquering AI rivals. The AI's have there own unique ship designs as well. (Sidenote: There's also a diplomacy update coming sometime in the future, which will greatly enhance the conquest mode by adding logistics, diplomacy with the ai and other stuff)

The AI: The AI is reasonabley intelligent and uses a decent amount of tactics when fighting against the player.

Verdict: 9/10, If you like vehicle designing games, then i highly reccomend Airships CTS. The game is also being updated every couple of months by the dev.

If you like Payday 2, Left 4 Dead or any of the other great Co-Op games ever made, then you'll like this game for sure.


PROS:
- 4 interesting Classes with distinct roles, weapons, gadgets and throwables.

- A focus on team play (although solo play is possible with an AI drone companion)

- Fairly varied weapon roster. There's plenty of different loadouts and weapon builds you can make.

- Great enemy variety. There's many different enemy types, with heaps of different Glyphids (spider aliens) making up the majority of the roster as of now. There's also a dozen or so non-glyphid enemies that are unique in their own ways.

- Devs that actually care about their communities suggestions and feedback. They've implemented quite a number of things that players have asked for. This is somewhat rarer nowadays, so this is quite a boon.

- Performance is great and the game should run on pretty much anything made in the last 6 or 7 years (unless your PC is a baked potato). There's also very few bugs and most of those are very minor.

- Infinite maps. All maps are procedurally generated, so it's very unlikely you'll ever see the same map twice. There's also a number of different biomes to choose from, like magma, glacial, saltpits, fungus bogs etc. The devs said they will most likely add new biomes in the future too.

- Updates are fairly fast, usually there's a major update every 1 or 2 months. Hotfixes after major updates are fast and many, most of the changes in these hotfix are usually bug fixes or minor balance tweaks.

- Great community. 98% of players you encounter in game tend to be decent human beings and many are willing to help newcomers. Of course there's bound to be a few bad eggs.

- Good music, very sci-fi sounding with many synths and such. However it can get repetitive after several hundred hours of gameplay. The devs said they are planning to add even more music to the game soon though.


CONS:

- Might be somewhat repetitive for people with really short attention spans, but this shouldn't be a problem for most people that are Co-Op game vets.

- Some weapons are somewhat underpowered compared to their counterparts, however this is going to change once update 29 releases, at least for most of the underpowered weapons. I have tried the experimental build for update 29 and almost all of the underpowered weapons have been buffed and made fairly viable vs their counterparts.

Other then that there's really no major flaws with this game.



My score for the game: 9/10. It's almost perfect at the time of writing this review.

That is about it, the game is pretty much what you'd want from a Co-Op FPS set in space with space dwarfs and aliens.
