this game can be fun sometimes but honestly ♥♥♥♥ BHVR and everything they have been doing recently.
BHVR started dbd as a passion project and if you see any content on the game from back in the day you can tell that it was genuinely just a game where you could have fun and especially that there was a close connection between the community and the devs. now i get that it's stressful to work on such a big game with a relatively small team but the ammount of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they have managed to pull in the last year or so is astounding, especially with the whole NFT drama they got in recently, where, unknowingly, the money they made off of us with the new pinhead DLC went towards a collection of NFT's, resulting in the "you opened the box" voiceline being removed, along with the loss of the rights to stranger things.

now none of this affects gameplay but don't worry, there's plenty of things making the game itself nearly unplayable.
for starters, the lack of ear the devs have for the community. there will be a problem with the game, and the entire community will be enraged about it, yet somehow it takes BHVR months, sometimes years to even adress the problem, let alone fix it. you know why this is? because they're too busy making new dlc (also known as cashgrabs) to fix any of the problems this game has. like it seems almost every single month that a new character shows their stupid little face in dbd, having you pay like 8 bucks for what is essentially just a few stupid perks.
for me the money or the lack of communication isn't even the worst part of BHVR, but it's the fact that they never even learn from their mistakes. you'd think that after 7 dlc releases where the game is literally unplayable because of the bugs, they'd find a way to make the chapter releases go a bit more smoothly, but no. evidenced by the latest dlc release, mikaela, making the game LITERALLY unplayable, to the point where you'll be loading into the game for about 20 minutes to finally find out someone has either left or crashed, sending you right to the end game screen with a fun little error message. now repeat this process 3 times, and then crash, and you'll have truly experienced a classic BHVR ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
i've always tried to defend BHVR and accept most of their mistakes but they have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up too many times to forgive.
