The game should worth 9/10, but " The AI SUCKS " and some of the settings were not so reasonable, and there're some bugs as well.
Good : The mass fighting is very very outstanding. If you like 1st person mass fighting, this is
" SURE " the game you shouldn't miss .
Disappointing about poor AI and settings :
-Our men will block by a small hill/tree or something else. During sieging around some of our men will just standing outside even we ordered all the men to charge a few times. (it's a whole army order). Also, if we order our archer to stand behind the siege tower to shoot. After the siege tower reach the wall, all our men will forgot our order and charge up the ladder.
-If we're looking for your marshal or a Lord, there is hardly anybody to ask. and we've to spend days looking for our marshal, and it is frustrated !!
-During sieging sometimes our men cannot walk up the ladder and become a sitting duck in front of enemy archer .Even I ask them to pull back or walk back ....those of my men who blocked the ladder won't move (their legs're moving )
-Being a Lord with more than one fief, we cannot ask my wife to stay in the fief we wish. And also she will move to the new fief we own automatically without asking !!!
-No wife no feast !! We cannot held a feast without a wife even we own a castle/town. There is
NO servant to do a simple job.
-We have to use a pen and paper to write down all the town and castle data. It just looks like playing a 30 years old game !!
-Frame rate will drop a lot after 10-15 battles.
-Cannot start a new game after retire !! We have to delete a save file in order to start a new game. Not many new player know that.
-As a King, if one of my Lord was defeated, -1 relationship with him, why??? What is the reason behind this?
-As a King, there is no room for my "ACTIVE" Lords to stand when they attend to my feast. Thus cannot talk to them to improve extra +2 relationship. Only +2 relationship when they left.
Also .... only 2 Lords have 2 relationship added even more than 2 of them have a relationship less than 100.
-Setting up a fire in a village before recusing a Lord doesn'r work even I have a good relationship with that village.
-Leadership tactics and weapon proficiencies have no detail explaination. What is the difference between weapon proficiencies 200 and 300 and 6 points and 8 pts in Leadership tactics ?
-Armor : No detail explaination about the difference between 39 and 72 ?
Wearing a set of best armor which worth 200,000+, still ...most of the time minus 60-80% health points just from one crossbow hit. (not a head hit). Whereas, my crossbow with 63+2 damage .....need 2 shots to finish a level 3 enemy wearing only midium armor.
-Difference between NORMAL and GOOD AI setting is just enemy movement much faster and their armor is much better. The AI didn't improve.
-After a few hundred game days (500days+) most of the Kings (if not all of them) will fire all the loyal Lords. All the fiefs will just own by himself. Why is that? What kind of AI it is?
-Sending letter to a Lord : If we've just finish this quest and accept another send letter quest from another Lord which is sending a letter to same Lord we have just send. The quest fail after just a few days have passed. Aso, this quest fail suddenly a few times befor my time limit have reach.
-When we press F1 order our whole army to stand, very often ....some of our cavalries will dismount their horse automatically. Also, some of my cavalries will face the enemy with their horse back, making them defendless.
-Transferring army from my fief to my own hand, The wounded will be transferred instead of the healthy ones.
-Cannot choose how many men we want to recruit in a village, we can only recruit all or noon!!!
-Food consume is not in order, with 3 pieces of bread in our bag all being eaten, instead of finish them one by one. Also, cannot order our men not to eat some kind of food that we want to sell.
-All 100% of the Lords have the same character ""COWARD"" No Lord is willingly to charge into a larger enemy with me even I've gave the order.
-One time (only once) I order my archer to retreat during attacking a castle, and they
-----all climb up the ladder. Retreat order = attack.
The game is really really great I really love the ""mass fighting""so much.
The reason why the metacritic score is just 78, are bugs and some settings are not good enough.
Again, if you love mass fighting/war fight this is your game. ^o^
