One day, servers of all Dark Souls games will be shut down. There will be people opening their servers to gather a small part of community together, even if it is for a small time. But even then, after everything, time for Dark Souls will stop.

There will be no invaders to harm you on your way to linking of fire, no summons to engage in jolly cooperation, no messages from other worlds to keep you going or to trick you into death.
White soap stones will stay forever on the ground, untouched.
Red eye orbs and Blue eye orbs will find no one, and shut their eyes.
Arenas always will be in a search for partner, unreachable.
Covenants will wait for a new recruit, without anybody to show at leaderboards.
Death counter at Majula will show only one's deaths, instead of hundreds of millions.

Then, even the last player will be gone.

Solaire will stare at the sun. Siegmeyer will be lost in thought at the gate of Sen's Fortress.
Lucatiel will wait for someone to amuse her. Benhart will get creeps from that statue.
Anri and Horace will rest at Halfway Fortress. Siegward won't be able to take the lift up the tower.

Knight Artorias will continue fighting the Abyss.
Sir Alonne will wait patiently for a honorable last opponent.
Slave Knight Gael will ever search for the Dark Soul of Man.

Anastacia will wait for Chosen Undead.
Shanalotte will wait for Bearer of the Curse.
The last Fire Keeper will wait for Ashen One.

Gwyn will guard the powerful First Flame.
Nashandra will wait for the rightful ruler of Throne of Want.
Soul of Cinder will rest at the flickering First Flame.

But no one will ever come.
