Never thought i'd recommend an early access game. But haven't been able to stop playing since release. So I'm doing my part! It's great to have an online coop survival game that joins you into a game in 10 seconds or less. Very easy to pass the time for 15 min or an hour. On U.S. servers, anyway, There is no penalization for leaving game.

Never read the books but having watched the movies, I had several moments of reenactment. The gameplay makes is super easy to get lost into it, creating your own head lore, lol. Even though there is only one massive map right now, the diversity of ways you can battle is enough to keep it enjoyable in replayability. Whether its going out far into the massive map in squads to capture different gas capsules, or holding out in the base building and upgrading it, waiting for the hordes of arachnids to come. Lots of replayability. I do only play on veteran mode (hardest difficulty), mind you.

So far they have released one update fixing a good bit of bugs, and have another update about to release giving some goodies, like mutators, heavy tower mg placements, and some other stuff for weapons. It is still very early into early access, but I am very happy with how these devs have handled this game. Of all the early access games that I have tried out, this is the best start of one I've seen. Graphics are great, there's gore, gameplay is fun and replayable. And it's about Starship Troopers, no less.

For the price, I would highly recommend this early access game.
