Early Access Review
Look I didn't get overhyped about this game. I expected problems or hey a slightly off animation.

That's fine and this is early Access it's fixable.

What's not fine is the rampant hacker problem, the glitches (I FELL THROUGH THE MAP 5 TIMES IN A ROW), lack of basic features such as melee, and Blue Drakes responses have soured the game for me.

Two things he said that I found annoying.

1.) make your own anti-cheat. OH! thank you. I'll get right on that while playing a game made by you and a team. Honestly that was a ♥♥♥♥♥ move.
2.) We allow server hosts to cheat. He has literally admitted that the tools for god mode and such are available to hosts. THEN WHY NO KICK OPTION?

Being free is no excuse for bad product.
Early Access is fine if it's meant to be fixed but you put it out in Early Access missing basic features like Melee with the attitude of "well fix it community"

first off the "it's free" mindset is how we got battle passes and other predatory systems into gaming so prevalently.
second you might have just created a new predatory problem. "Hey I made this skeleton of a game thats missing a leg. The community will finish it for me."

I will happily return and edit this review if the game improves but as it stands the game isn't good.

Also this game isn't free that's a one dimensional way to look at it. It takes time out of your life to play. So you spend something even on "free" games.

And so it won't hurt your wallet but it's not worth your time.

Again it may improve as this is early access but when 17 out of 20 matches had a hacker in them I think you need anti-cheat.

Legacy of sin The father sacrifice in short...is a decent PVZ style game with a cool art style. If lacking much originality in it's identity. But hey isn't all fantasy copying Tolkien?

Gameplay wise its functional but easily broken/glitches. You can literally build a backline of Tercio's and simply win the game.

Playing the way the dev intended involves a fair bit of micromanaging specifically with your Arquebus (gun) units as they cannot fire through allies. Unless you abuse the tercio glitch.

Content-wise there just isn't enough to justify the price. You'll have this beat in 2-3 hours. Your unit selection is 3 plus the hero and barrels (barricades). The 15 missions are fine and the story is simple. Basically, you are a captain of the watch who must defend the town and earns power over the course of the story. The whole thing feels like act one in any other fantasy game. In anything else you'd play through this and have another 2 acts at least to play through. instead it ends and there's a sequel around the corner. It looks to be adding far more content (even if backgrounds look re-used).

In short, this game should get a "meh" on the recommend but due to the lack of content, price, and just general bugginess (the worst of which occurs when I buy a unit but nothing spawns) I cannot in good consciousness recommend. I will more than likely be checking out the sequel. Should it improve I will let you know. Here's a more in-depth video review from me.

Honestly, if the price was what I got when it was on sale I wouldn't be as harsh. The animation is nice and you can complete the game (put that on the store page ha ha) but everything else holds it down something terrible.

I do wish the dev luck on the sequel though.

Roma Invicta is a short RTS experience that serves as a fun distraction.

You will be fighting against the Gauls and be managing troops, finances, and food.

You move stacks of soldiers one piece of the map at a time. Then the Gaul ai will take their turn.

You have access to legionaries (Yes, the testudo works) for Frontline

Velites for range and skirmishes

Cav for the obvious cav stuff.

And finally scorpions which are artillery and better set to ai control.

You can hire Germanic mercs as cavalry and skirmishes.

Food is managed by buying or pillaging. The 2nd option raises enemy units.

Overall a fun game.
Only serious problem is the frames dying when two half strength armies fight.

Also there are mods but the firearms are a bit wonky (at time of writing) as charge doesn't function.

Fair game for normal price. Discounts make it worth it.

I made a full review that goes in-depth

Hope you enjoy, have a nice day.
