Story is decent but the world is great, although small. There is a romance and character affinity mechanic, as well as the fact that certain sidequests can affect the outcome of a few select main quests. I play this for the combat and character customization because no other game gets it right like this besides Dragon Quest IX. There is an endgame called Bitterblack Isle. It is hard. Then again, I've been playing on hard since my first run. Can't wait for the sequel!
