This whole thing is a great example of how much people love this game (myself included). We were brought together for a major order IRL and we won democratically like usual.
Now that the playerbase and their progress aren't at risk we can make actual reviews again.

Actual review:
Very good, very fun spreading democracy.
Only gripes: some things are poorly balanced and there have been numerous bugs (not the Terminids) that make gameplay a lot less fun that have been around for way too long.
pls fix them.

Stop looking at reviews and play the game.
It is best going in blind. Trust me.

Great style, good gameplay, and a tough uncompromising world to test your bravery early on and test your mastery once you know what your doing. If possible, look up as little as you can for this game and avoid mods until you know how to survive and thrive. Kinda like playing Minecraft for the first time!

This game is designed to be explored and mastered by anyone willing to put the hours in and master the game, but there is nothing wrong with adjusting the experience to what you enjoy and there are plenty of ways of doing so through world settings and mods. So don't be afraid to turn down the inhabitants of the caves a bit or make autumn last longer, that's why the game doesn't have achievements y'know!

TL;DR
The game is hard but rewarding to play blind, but there are plenty of options to make parts of the game easier/clearer for those unwilling to decipher the unforgiving Constant.

It fast, time it pass, and it a blast.

Is one of the most engaging and fun horror games I've played in while!

Playing with friends makes the game less scary but the multiple roles make it very fun to coordinate with the team. Relaying evidence and setting up in a room with gear worth hundreds of dollars. Gathering every bit of info that can identify the ghost or fill out objectives. Then seeing your friend dead on the ground, a camera lay beside them with a picture of a tattered woman with a sickle in hand.

While solo play is very tense. You gotta take your time and search each room thoroughly to make absolutely sure you didn't miss the ghost room. Every sound and creak in the floorboards builds the tension, while your slowly gathering information about the ghost. Every flicker in the lights makes you second guess whether or not you should continue. Hearing groaning or humming from a nearby room while you scramble for your camera to get a get picture of the ghost before it slams the door shut and dissapears. Returning to the room and seeing that a plush animal fills the hallway that was once empty. Then hearing your heart beating and the lights flickering. Feet stomp across the rooms and hear it pass just by your ear. Then narrowly escaping with just barely enough information to identify the ghost with only a small amount of sanity remaining, and doubling your funds.

Game is just a frikin blast!

Its fun to screw around but starts to get stale after 500 hours.

The recent mods kept me coming back though!

Its a great stress reliever and the beneath mode is very fun, and very replayable. BUT EVERYTIME I GO TO THE ISLANDS I DIE OR THE CRASHES
