i hate to say it, im not a big fan, the music in tomb of the savior is just randomly cut off by a bizarre flute or string instrument that sounds like whistling, the initial character is.... very janky, if you use the m2 on the first character the dlc adds, your camera just zooms out? and you can also double jump if you use it in the air, the animations are very.......... disappointing. like dont get me wrong the new items and the rest of the kit is super dope (except for the ranged attacks that barely have any range, along with the shift mobility tool that doesnt fit the rest of the kit in the slightest) but it somewhat fits into a monk esq character


although.. the changes to the main game. in shipment supplies and terminals, items no longer have outlines, why is that you might ask? well i have no clue, because on the ground and in your inventory, they still have the rarity outlines, but no longer do they have them in terminals and shipments. i uhh also just have "new" on my settings at all times, regardless if i scan through all my settings and hover over every single one, it just doesnt go away, but you know the halcyon event is kinda cool so far, idk if im judging it too soon or just have bad taste but its kinda underwhelming, i'd have to give it a 4.5/10 so far


edit: its kind of atrocious, i keep running into bugs where characters just dont work, the games framerate and screen tearing gets absurdly bad at random, the new items seemed cool at first but dont really do anything cool or useful, i mean the red items that just give you extra onhit effects and more items is kind of op, but other than that its just lackluster, the map design is pretty good on some levels and pretty... meh for others, the lack of any quest of prerequisites to unlock the new items is very disappointing, the whole "purify the heart of the false son with a halcyon seed" to unlock the new character doesnt require you to do anything other than beat him while you have a halcyon seed, his animations and kit feel wierd, his animations feel unfinished and his kit feels thrown together by someone who doesnt know what they are doing, because no matter what you do hes meant to be speedy and tanky for some reason, instead of speedy or tanky, like they probably should have made him

and oh dear god the scanner, my beloved item scanner, what have they done to you, for those who havent noticed or dont know, the item icons when using the Scanner equipment has changed, chests, regular and big, are now classified as "dropped item bag" icon, while equipment chests, void cradles and "specials" in general still have the chest icon, i dont know why since it just makes the game more painful since now you dont know if its some bad equipment you opened and left behind or a chest you missed

i gotta change my initial thought to 3/10 its a mediocre dlc with some really bad changes to the base game

the game is bad, not because of the gameplay or mechanical parts of the game, just because of the implementation of matchmaking, lvl 100 players can play in beginner tiers and prevent new players from ever having fun or doing anything, and that happens on a regular every game basis, if you play with a tank at lets say tier 2.0, you have the possability of playing against tanks from 1.0 to 3.0, and a lot of the time if you are unlucky and face higher tiers, there just isnt anything you can do because your tank literally cannot penetrate their armor.

the game is exceptionally grindy, after 150 hours i have only reached mid tier on one of like 7 different nations, they have daily rewards to try to keep you coming back because there is technically a minescule chance that you can get something really good from those daily login rewards

the game is pretty heavily pay to win, you can just buy tanks that give you a faster progression and often times much better weapons, upgrades and stats than other tanks, not to mention the bushes camo item that you can buy and place on your tank to make yourself practically invisible to newer players and pretty damn well hidden to even experienced players because its so hard to tell the difference between a regular bush and a bush with a tank in it.

as a new player you dont get to have fun because you get spawn camped by people with 2k hours

as a somewhat experienced player you dont get to have fun because you get to face tanks of a whole different level that are "only" one rating above you every game

as a highly experienced player you dont get to have fun because if you peek your left toenail from 3km away you just die

so congrats, two different tiers of players suffer because of how the matchmaking is so poorly made, and the last tier suffers becuase of how poorly made the game is

an absolute banger, graphics are great, can be played if you are currently using a potato to play doom, music fits perfectly, its not easy for beginners but man is it worth getting into, there is the main story as well as several side scenarios as well as an endless mode, its pretty damn well balanced and well made because it genuinly makes you stressed, with moments of relief and comedy from time to time, as well as some pretty damn difficult choices to make, with some coming back to bite you later on so you actually have to think what effects your choices can have

a right ol 9/10 , its not getting a 10/10 because of the difficulty you WILL have at the start/first 3 playthroughs perhaps? as well as some bugs i think? me explaining the bugs are a little spoilery so if you dont wanna read it just take it as a 9/10 from me chief


(for me hunters kept getting sick at day 9 even though their houses were heated as well as their workplaces so idk if its just a bug for me or what, but i feel 20 people shouldnt get sick at good heat with good food and corpse disposal, if anyone knows if its a part of the game i have missed so far or just a simply bug, would be much appreciated)

i installed it 3 days ago and average about 10 hours a day, no i dont have an addiction, i only got it on steam because my 2-3 year save on web got wiped

its pretty good, takes a while to get good but once you get good you can actually start getting some pretty cool stuff, even as F2P (even though its a dog experience) only real complaints i got is the things you are given as f2p, since there isnt much you can do with the earnable currency and you are heavily limited in comparison with p2p players, your character slots are limited, your storage is limited on EVERYTHING, you wont really be getting any "high" tier items, or semi high tier items without paying or playing for an absurd amount of time, although, its not as absurd as some other games that require you to grind *cough* diablo *cough*

everything about it is fantastic, and while im going to fanboy im going to do so FAIRLY.

gameplay in and of itself is great, because not only can you go for whatever builds you really want but you can choose which character and abilities you want to start with, and if you have played the game for a bit you could unlock modifiers to change how each run goes along with a pretty good gameplay loop with a balanced variety of items for different uses, rarities and even certain items that have tradeoffs because otherwise their effects would just be too strong.

the music is a real 10/good, slaps harder than it has the right to do, now i dont look up the names of the songs but trust me if you are too far into a run and start to get bored, the music either kicking up a notch or changing is a real lifesaver. i dont know how chris crusty-sock-doodle or however his name is written makes such amazing music.

the alternative gameplay options for gamemodes like prismatic challenges or eclipse runs are also a great way to change pace if you ever feel like you wanted more or want to play another way, these are great options, game also has multiplayer, not great, would not recommend, friends steal EVERYTHING, find a legendary chest that drops a red item you really wanted? yoinky sploinky.

now... the unlockables and the lore, i myself have not unlocked all artifacts or all log entries or even know the general lore of the game, but oh man am i a sucker for a game with some great secrets and BOUNTIFUL lore, for every item or log entry you unlock there is a small amount of lore text that accompanies said item that you can view at any time, along with 3d models of said items or creatures or generally anything, now i have to admit that some secrets that are quite well known, i didnt even know about until like 3 or 4 hours of playtime ago, and im sure there are some secrets i wont even find, mostly because im more blind than a stoned bat.

yeah alright game, like a 5 out of pizza

good game, would be better if i had friends to play with....

i wouldnt really recommend it, it took me less than 10 hours of just doing the missions that popped up before i hit "pay to play" territory... but idk

its a very good game, its a shame that when you get burnt out from it and take a break, ubisoft plans to delete your account for being inactive though...

its a great game, the only problem is ubisoft

very poppin good gmae, the copius amounts of cocaine-snortache you have to do in order to complete the hardest difficulty is worth it i promise (have definetily done hardest difficulty)
