Disguised as an idle factory simulator, Satisfactory is a game that is enjoyed whether with friends or alone. While diverging heavily in its visual style, it shares a great many similarities with the most innovate and enjoyable parts of Minecraft.

Visuals
The world, while a static map, is incredibly visually appealing and diverse in the biomes represented. The convergent areas of biomes ease smoothly into each other and offer not only different difficulty levels in resource acquisition but also backdrops for unique factory buildings. There is an incredible amount of customization available without requiring endless menus of materials and instead emphasis being put on the use of built in tools (such as hologram nudging) to take a small variety of building blocks and transform them into unique structures. Importantly the building blocks, as industrial as they might appear, can be made to mesh beautifully with the alien landscape of the planet on which we find ourselves.

Core Gameplay
If redstone devices are your jam and puzzle games such as unpacking are up your alley then factory design is going to be your bread and butter (and your fellow pioneers will likely thank you for it). There is never a singular right way to go about solving problems.
As you progress through this game your aim is to create more complicated pieces of technology requiring more power, different resources, and some space management. You are encouraged to develop all the different aspects of your production chains to create more efficient factories without being outright guided through it. Creativity is encouraged and employed alongside a healthy dose of logistics it can garner some incredibly unique results. Each pioneer will have their own methods of approaching the same tasks; while one might angle towards the rectilinear another might find joy in integrating their machinery into the natural geometry as much as possible.

Sauce
This is what this game really comes down to: all the little pieces of "fluff" that really give it an edge.
As an avid movement shooter player I can confidently say that once all the tech is unlocked, this game offers movement on a level of fluidity and diversity to rival Titanfall 2. With the option to research guns and rifles, and the liberty to construct unique arenas with cover and movement options, you could readily create an Apex Legends style arena (without all the drawbacks of Apex...).
While already being touched on at length, the ability for design in this game really allows one to create whatever they might want without it needing to be a factory. Planning a whole city with a functional power grid, programmed cars, a train station, all of this is possible in Satisfactory (provided you have the resources).
To cap it all off, the witty interactions with your AI guide ADA-1 make for a at times chortle worthy experience despite the smaller role this plays within the scope of the game experience

Overall I believe that there is truly an aspect for everyone in this game although sometimes those more niche likes might be available only further into a playthrough.
