Well, a recent Facebook picture is actually the culprit behind the reason. A person in Australia specifically Perth actually went into a Subway restaurant to purchase a sandwich and he noticed his sandwich was on the little bit of a lean side. So he pulls out his measuring tape and it turns out his sandwich measures only 11 inches. Now Subway customers are doing this nation-wide because the photograph itself received more than 131,000 likes and thousands upon thousands of comments. Four out of seven five dollar footlongs purchased at Subways in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens measure only 11 or 11.5 inches. Because of this, the craze of people measuring their sandwiches is all over the United States right now even I did it going to the recent Subways that are around here in this neighborhood and let me just say - most of the times my sandwiches only come up to 10 inches maybe even 11 on a good day. So this is something Subway does acknowledge but they have not put out an exact reaction to it to be able to assess the problem. Though they do claim that the bread does shrink when it is toasted but there have been multiple occasions where people have reported that their breads have been less than 12 inches whether they have been toasted or not Considerably enough in my honest opinion I believe that Subway sandwiches are getting smaller but rather maybe not exactly only by length but by width as well. It can be seen in multiple photographs that Subway sandwiches do differ in width as well as length so this way they do cut down on a little bit of bread shortages I suppose by making sure that breads are reduced in size in both angles so it is an interesting topic to think about and basically that is it.
