Sometimes wanting to like a game really hard isn’t enough and you have to accept that maybe this game simply isn’t for you. I wanted to like this game so much, I’ve been hyped for it for 2 years (I think?). Sadly, that’s a big no for me, although I seem to be in the minority here so make it what you will.
The game is pretty, that’s simply a fact, but it’s not always pleasant to look at. Sometimes it’s too bright or visually charged so you can hardly tell where you’re supposed to go, what’s a path and what’s simply a pretty background. So even what I consider the biggest pro of the game isn’t that nice :/
Combat is boring as hell, you only have one kind of weapon, a staff, and up to three stances, each with its own heavy attack variant. So it’s repetitive as hell on top of being a bit annoying, since most of your damage will be dealt by making combos, combos that will lock you in animations for you to get walloped by your enemies. I also hate the inconsistency of your attacks. Sometimes your time lock spell will be cancelled instantly, but you’ll still have to deal with the cooldown and the mana cost. Sometimes, for some unfathomable reason, the enemy attack will miss you by an inch when you use rock solid, making this clunky parry mechanic even more useless.
Story is inexistant, I’m also curious how little people who haven’t read Journey to the west will understand. For starters, I’m infuriated by the plot of the game: “Sun Wukong died, you need to collect six relics to resurrect him.” Really, THE Sun Wukong died? The 7 times immortal stone monkey that wrecked the heavens and could only be permanently stopped by THE Buddha himself? Sure, whatever you say, game…
When my favorite parts of the game are simply its callbacks to Journey to the west, I think it tells a lot about how much I enjoyed this game.
In terms of difficulty, the game is really easy. You’ll face a ♥♥♥♥ ton of bosses that you will kill in one or two tries, kinda like Dark Souls 2 but somehow even worse.
Exploration is okay once your eyes get used to the environments. The rewards can be pretty nice.
To finish on a positive note, the cinematics at the end of each chapter are easily the best part of the game and each is a delight making worth sludging through this visual mess. The enemies and boss design are also consistently great, and while it’s kinda fanservice, I enjoyed seeing some well-known characters and references to Journey to the west.
That’s about it for me, I won’t platinum this one, completing the lists of yaoguai kings and chiefs was annoying enough. Check other reviews or gameplay videos since I seem to be one the only 5 persons on Earth that dislike this game. If you can have fun with it, good for you, maybe it’s just not for me. :/

This game… is excellent, I expected it to be good, it ended being one of my favorite games.
Fair warning, the game is hard, you’ll get stomped in the dirt again and again. But none of the bosses are unfair, each attack can be dodged or parried. So, you’ll die and learn until you finally win and when this happens, oh boy how proud you’re gonna feel.
From a “technical viewpoint” the game does everything right: pretty visuals, good music, interesting story and characters, fun gameplay. It’s either a 9/10 or a 10/10 and you should definitely check it out

It took me a while to decide between a positive and a negative review for this game, and even though it was close, to me it’s really not that good of a game.
Let’s start with the positives:
-More time with our beloved phantom thieves
-The combat is pretty fun, I enjoyed it more than the turn based one of the original game.
-The new phantom thieves (not really a spoil, you can see that you’re gonna get new allies in the intro). They’re fun, Sophia is okay, around the same level as most other PT, and Zenkichi is one of my favorite, even compared to the base game. His story is just way too good
-Banger soundtrack, as always
-Kind of a mixed point, but as I mentioned earlier, the game is overall good, I don’t consider it to be a complete waste of time. It could have been great if not for a few, very prominent cons. Speaking of which…

The negatives:
-The story. It’s really boring mainly because it’s almost a complete rehash of the original persona 5 :
the phantom thieves steal a few hearts to make the corrupts confess their crimes,
there’s a conspiracy with people trying to use the metaverse for their personal goals
these people frame the PT for murder,
the public opinion immediately turns it’s back to the PT
the PT make a loud comeback
the PT defeat what seemed to be the villain
plot twist, the true villain is an angel/God obsessed with control who wants to protect humans by enslaving them
the PT win
the end


It’s almost beat for beat the same thing, without the novelty or charm of the original game
-No social links/nothing changes. The biggest strength of every single persona game has always been the people in it, and sadly our good old phantom thieves don’t really change or grow in this game.
It’s a bit reminiscent of the base game, where they would pretty much become complete background characters after their short time in the spotlight. They’re completely static, and while it’s good to see them back, it’s also a bit boring because I already know each of them perfectly.
I personally would have loved to see this trip take place a few years later, to have them be young adults (kinda like persona 4 arena). It would have been a lot more interesting in my opinion.
-The combat can be a bit of a mess sometimes :/
And I think that’s about it. As I said, it’s a decent game and if you’re really starved of persona 5 content, this can be a fun refill. But to me, it was a bit disappointing and to be honest, not worth the full price.

Damn it fromsoft, I don' know how you did it but you actually made a dlc that lived up to elden ring.
First of, my one and only con is the performance issue: drop of framerates in certain area of with certains boss attacks and a few crashes. That being said I'm sure these issues will be fixed shortly.

Now about the dlc itself

In short, it's amazing.
New beautiful areas (didn't expect an infiltration level in elden ring) that you're pretty much entirely free to explore in whatever order you want.
New ennemies and bosses with amazing design. I feel like when it comes to praising fromsoft, most people focus on the game design and level design. While they're both excellent, the chara design of characters and monsters are constitently great and should be more appreciated in my opinion.
A ton of new weapons, armors, craftables and spells.
And of course it can be difficult (or not, if you're like me, getting lost exploring and facing bosses with a scadutree level way higher than it should be)
Scadutree levels are really important, you raise it by finding scadutree fragments (kinda like the goden seeds for your flask) and it increases your damage and damage reduction. If low you're gonna have a hard time, but if you explore well you'll be
perfectly fine
I don't understant why people complain about the difficulty when you can seriously tone it down by exploring

To wrap it up, amazing dlc fromsoft, can't wait to see your next work

Okay so, 60 hours in and almost every trophy earned, I think it's time for me to review this game

tldr, Lords of the fallen is ok, about 7/10, if you're looking for a good soulslike, play Lies of P or Nioh 2
but if you've already played these games and are looking for a decent soulslike then Lords of the fallen can be enjoyable

**Pros**
- A pretty heavy focus on esthetic, many amazing looking armors and weapons

- The umbral world as a concept works, it’s a neat mechanic and a really cool looking, albeit dangerous, place to explore

- A lot of cool tools to use, your umbral lamp, throwable, spells, all that jazz

-Continued support and content from the devs. Many performances issues have been fixed and to this date, the devs are still taking care of this game, which is much appreciated.

**Mixed**
- The environments are pretty uninspired, nothing groundbreaking but I was still able to differentiate them.

- Performance is alright, no crash but the game still stutters a bit when loading some areas.

**Cons**
- Almost no enemy variety. You have like, 5 enemies per faction with some reused animations between them. A lot a “elite enemies” as well, bosses who become common enemies later on, but I personally don’t really mind.

- Multiplayer sucks. Invaders all have the same 2 builds (dual lightsabers or inferno spell spamming) and the servers are just terrible. I can’t count how many guys were moving around in 2 fps only to one shot me because all their spell and attacks suddenly connects at the same time. Co-op is wanky as hell, I kept suddenly losing connection with hosts or right when I arrive.

- Questlines are either boring or annoying. The fact that they’re convoluted as heck isn’t really a con to me because that’s kinda what I expect in a soulslike, but the characters simply don’t make me want to complete their quests. That’s mainly because most of them have very little reaction or character development during these quests. And some are simply insufferable (Kukajin)

- Some really annoying currencies. Money (here called vigor) isn’t really a problem, there’s even a neat gimmick about it where the longer you stay in the umbral world, the more dangerous it becomes but you get more vigor in return.
No, what I’m talking about here are the umbral scouring and the covenant currencies. In short, you get way too little of these compared to the price of the items they buy. I did 3 playthrough and I’m still currently 140 umbral scouring short to buy everything in Mohlu’s shop, which I need to do if I want the achievements. As for the covenant items, they’re not required for anything, thankfully, but the fact that you need hundreds of them to buy armor and tints is nuts. I got like 200 eyeballs in 3 playthrough, and you need 300 for the cheapest piece of armor.

- The endings. I know the devs said that the final boss of the radiance ending was meant to be something else entirely, but they had to cut and modify a lot of things because they were out of time. Still, it sucks, especially when it’s the ending most people are gonna get (20% for the radiance ending, 4% for the other two). The inferno ending literally has no special boss, only the umbral ending has one (granted, it’s a really cool boss).

- The weapons variety. While you can dual wield almost any weapons, which is cool, there’s no weapon art, nothing to dissociate the weapons except their look. As a result, they all feel the same.


And that’s about it. Despite it’s many flaws, I had a fun time playing Lords of the fallen, and I hope you will too if you decide to pick up the game.

This game is really good BUT, it is also very niche :if you love sekiro and bloodborne then you're gonna have a good time

pros:
-the combat is by far the best part of the game, it is fast paced with really tight controls. Lategame you're gonna be a full on badass.
-there's a good variety of secondary tools, aka the plague weapons. These are weapons or buff you can collect on enemies, and if you have enough they get various buffs and even a whole second ability.

mixed
-the game is short, around 8 hours to complete it and I did every secondary mission
-there aren't that many maps (only 4)

cons
-There's not a lot of enemy variety
-there's no voice acting, wich is a real shame because most dialogues happen in bossfights and you can't really pay attention to the subtitles
-the story is really hard to piece together, even with every little piece of paper gathered all game

overall a pretty good game for the price and the fact that it's an indie game

"Mighty Elden Ring, thou'rt a trueborn heir."
This game takes everything the studio did and combine it in a really epic way.
You have a huge world with so many things to discover, no marker here to tell you when and where to go, epic weapons and spells, epic bosses, great game design, incredible sountracks and one of the best open worlds ever designed.
The game is perfectly accessible for people who never played the Soulsborne before, but the veteran will enjoy the nice easter eggs and the return of features from previous games.
So yeah, you're free to enjoy this massive piece of a game the way you want and no one has the right to tell you how to play the game. You can be naked with a stick or use everything the game give you, after all it's YOUR adventure.

i know this is a remake and all but to me this is a watered down yakuza 0
the main appeal of 0 is the balance between a good story with emotional upbeat and some absolute wacky shenanigans.
to keep it short : yakuza 0 is superior in every aspect (story, content, combat, characters, etc ...)
but if you've already played 0 and you need a refill of yakuza in you life, i guess you can try this one out

The game is pretty unbalanced, and by that I don't mean "oh it's survivor/killer sided", the problem is that if you wanna win you HAVE to play dirty: bring meta perks, offerings, camp and tunnel. The killer side is the one that appealed the most to me but it's not fun at all, and since you'll face 4 people, the odds of facing toxing ones is pretty high. And i find survivor boring, so all in all I have no reason to play the game.
I hope that someday they'll do something about everything wrong with in game, but in the meantime ♥♥♥ you BHVR

Ok so, 18 hours in and the platinum obtained (sort of)
the good
The game is pretty good overall, areas have personnalities, music and sound design are really solid, some moments are fun and other are spooky so it's a pretty good horror game and a nice addition to the FNAF franchise.
the mixed
The game is currently REALLY buggy, it crashed a few times and textures can take a long time to load.
Plus the animatronics can be blind or have a third eye and spot you immediately and it's completely random. I also keep dying during the cutscene of one ending.
Sidenote: the game didn't unlock the platinum achievement even though I got all the achievement so yeah :/ not cool.
the bad
The game lose a lot of tension during its last third. And if the bugs aren't fixed soon I'll consider them to be a bad point.
