There's a glaring problem I see with Starbound personally. It has minimal replayability value despite the universe being infinitely generated. This combined with the fact that when you complete parts of the main story on one player, and thus one universe, all other previous and subsequent players and universes will have those parts of the main story completed. If, for example, you unlock the final boss of the game, the Ruin, the portal to the Ruin will stay open on all other save files regardless of whether the prerequisite missions are completed. Then, the game is also quite buggy, unoptimized, the story is hollow and feels like it isn't even an integral part of the game, and it has the potential for massive and sometimes unintentional progression skips. If you're looking to buy this game, by all means play the base game main story through a few times, but look into the extensive modding scene as well. Frackin Universe fixes the progression and story, other mods fix the bugs and optimization problems.

The modding scene is the only reason I would recommend grabbing this game. If you wish to avoid mods, your money may be better spent elsewhere.

I don't have to regularly play the game to know that the economy update is awful. I won't be talking about the economy update, however, as I am not qualified to do so.

What I will be talking about is Gaijin's blatant gaslighting and blaming of the playerbase for leaving negative reviews about a change that the players DO NOT like. Gaijin is too blinded by their own greed to admit their mistakes and try to amend and repair the damage they've done before it's too late to go back on it. Instead, they're accusing the playerbase of baseless review bombing, gaslighting them with half assed answers, and skirting around the issue refusing to take blame for their own changes, acting like they're the ones being attacked and lying through their teeth to try to convince the uninformed that the players are the ones at fault. It's a green tinted lens at its finest, the embodiment of Mr. Krabs, whatever other analogy you want to use.

There are plenty of other, popular negative reviews that go into detail about the economy changes if you would like to learn more about it, which I recommend checking out. Do NOT trust a single word, a single letter, a single sound from Gaijin. They WILL lie to you.

This game is not for the faint of heart. This game can get brutally hard and infuriating at times, being a top down bullet hell style of game; however, it is extremely enjoyable for those types of us who love a challenge. Most boss fights are very fair once you learn them and very fun, especially for the later game bosses which are fast paced. Bonus points for having an absolutely banging soundtrack, of which I believe most of the songs are metal genre.

What's more is that the game eases you into the bullet hell experience of the later parts of the game through progression unlocked by the various achievements, which in turn are linked to the major "final" bosses of the game. Instead of throwing the player into an infuriating head smashing hair ripping experience immediately, they are allowed to learn at their own pace and develop a greater skillset before the next major obstacle of the game. If you are just getting into this style of game, I recommend starting with this one.

An excellent game that I've enjoyed since I tried the demo version. Fun gameplay, goofy but powerful weaponry, a load of accessories to choose from, and most importantly, an immersive soundtrack. Plus, with how big the modding community is, the fun will never stop. Terraria may be getting its last update today as of reviewing (ReLogic has updated the game since the original review), but the game will live on for years, and I daresay decades to come. Now is as good of a time as ever to pick it up and dive right into the pixelated, 2D world.

Now with over 700 more hours under my belt, and with 100% achievements, I can safely say that this indie title has weathered the storm and stood the test of time to bring players the world round an experience matched by none. Terraria is legendary, and I can say without a doubt 99% of people will enjoy it if they pick it up. And hey, if vanilla gameplay isn't your forte, Terraria has a massive modding community with official support, so you can surely find something you'd like using tModloader. Do yourself a favor and pick this game up.

An amazing game for anyone who likes suspense and creativity. Kept me hooked on it for 7 hours straight, from start to finish. Even after finishing the game, I'll be sure to keep playing it and the extras because of how fun this game is.
