WHY DID THEY HAVE TO CHANGE THE MENU CLICKY SOUND? NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS! This recent update shows that Team 17 does not care about improving the game, they added map exclusive DLC for 14 dollars while not even bothering to optimize the very map they're selling the content for! I do enjoy this game (conditionally), but the second a better FPS comes out I will abandon this sinking ship of a game and never look back. If the devs decide to actually improve the game and listen to the community I will change my review to positive, but for the time being your time is better spent elsewhere.

Where to begin, this was my first COD game I've played since Black Ops 2 and I only bought this to have something to play with friends who play on console. I've never once cheated and yet my account has been shadow banned recently and is "under review" currently, which only matchmakes me with other shadow banned accounts in lobbies with horrible ping.
While I'm at it I might as well give my 2 cents on all aspects of the game, starting with the campaign. I played a few missions of the campaign during the period of time where it was the only thing available to play before the multiplayer launched, and the only thing I have to say is that it doesn't compare to the original MW2 campaign. I got bored of it and never went back when the multiplayer launched.
As far as the multiplayer goes, I only enjoy half of the maps on certain game modes but the only good maps are from the original modern warfare trilogy (with the exception of shoot house). Even on the maps that are good I still have a hard time enjoying the multiplayer due to the terrible spawn system. Often times the game will either spawn you next to a team mate regardless if they're in danger, leading to spawn deaths. Other times (especially on maps like shipment) i'll spawn close to the enemy that recently killed me or vise versa, also leading to spawn deaths. My theory is that infinity ward got lazy and didn't even bother to create a separate spawn system apart from ground war, they just don't let you choose which team mate you want to spawn on for regular 6v6 or 10v10 multiplayer. When it comes to multiplayer the best game mode is probably invasion because you're much less likely to be spawn killed vs other game modes. The weapon balance changes almost every time a new battle pass gun is released, one week everyone is running a shotgun in every lobby and the other everyone's running a sniper. I do like the weapon tuning and how you can use it to make a specific gun behave in a way you want. The weapons themselves are very basic guns that you've seen in any previous call of duty game, a reoccurring theme of this game.
DMZ and Warzone are the only reason why I put more than 20 hours into this game. As someone who tried to get into Escape From Tarkov and didn't enjoy the MMO elements, I enjoyed DMZ a lot and felt as if the gunfights were more intense than any other game mode. Aside from that, DMZ has the worst servers and there's a numerous amount of annoying bugs that almost ruin the experience. For example, there were many times where I wouldn't spawn with my insured weapon and would still be forced to wait at least an hour to get it back. Another problem that thankfully got fixed was that you would lose your entire loadout and gear if you were disconnected from a match. Up until I got shadow banned I was insanely addicted to resurgence and didn't enjoy the regular battle royal.
Now that I've talked about the different aspects of the game I want to dedicate the rest of this review to talk about how terrible of a company activision is and how it will be nothing but downhill from here for the call of duty series. First off they planned on making this game have a 2 year cycle, which is another reason why I bought this game. If you haven't been playing attention to leaks, it's clear that this isn't the case and that there will be another call of duty releasing in 2023. Instead of giving us actual content (other than re-hashed maps and weapons), activision is focusing on selling us "bundles" that are nothing short of "pay to win" micro transactions. I can't not mention skill based match making, now can I? I have nothing against the concept in and of itself, but despite public outcry activision has implemented it in a way that is inherently ruins the experience of the average player. Instead of the matchmaking giving you the best quality match possible when it comes to internet connection, it will do everything it can to prioritize matching you with people similar to your K/D level, even if the lobby gives you a ping disadvantage over the entire lobby. When you combine this with the lag compensation system it will mean that players who have a lower ping than you will be miliseconds ahead of you in game, meaning that if you both go around a corner at the same time whoever has the lower ping will more than likely get the first shots off. There is a reason why activision will not remove skill based matchmaking from casual lobbies; once the next call of duty game drops it will take much longer for you to find a match. I know that this is a given but in BO2 (for instance) I was able to find matches no problem 3-4 years after the games life cycle was over. Go back and try to find a match in cold war, I dare you.
In conclusion, This game was never worth the 70 dollar price tag. At launch there was less content than any call of duty game released on the XBOX 360/PS3 generation, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ spawns (that still haven't been fixed), poor weapon balance, terrible anti cheat system, SBMM, and overall greedy developers that just want to sell us their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bundles rather than give us good content. If you bought one of these bundles (especially the abomination of an easter bunny skin) you are nothing more than a shill for a cancerous corporation in all but name. The only redeeming quality about this game right now is resurgence, regular warzone is boring and DMZ is now filled with codC*CKSUCKERS who bought pay to win bundles. If you are going to play this game at all download warzone for FREE, DON'T BUY THE GAME IT'S NOT WORTH IT. ALSO F*** activision for shutting down the SM2 project. I will never buy a Call of Duty game ever again and I'm unsure if I will return to resurgence if/when my account is out of shadow ban land. If I had to give this game a score I'd give it 5/10, it would receive a 1/10 if not for warzone.

Depressing as it is to know that this (and Mass Effect 2) were the last good Bioware games, Dragon Age Origins stands as one of my favorite games, considering that it is one of the few games that I can enjoy from start to finish.
Pros:
-The game contains a great amount of content. You can easily sink 60 hours into the base game
-The cast of characters following the protagonist are memorable and well written. In fact, they are about on par with the cast in Knights of the Old Republic
-The gameplay is well balanced and may often require you to use your brain, especially in higher difficulty settings
-The dialogue is well written, and your character's attributes may determine what you want him or her to say
-Each of the 6 different origin stories are very entertaining, and even offer a degree of replay value
-Your choices in the game actually have an affect on the outcome of the story and are far from black/white, as a cunning player may find a compromise if all the availible options are assessed
-The soundtrack fits the mood quite well, though (aside from a few tracks) there's none that really stand out to the point where I'd go out of my way to listen to it
Cons:
-There are difficulty spikes in certain areas of the game
-The tedious fade section
-The extremely akward romance scenes
-Magic can be quite over powered to the point where it takes only one mage to influence the outcome of the fight
-Although the Player Character can do some very horrible things, there isn't exactly an "evil" ending
Verdict:
Dragon Age Origins is an extremely entertaining role playing game that offers a vast amount of content. If you are a fan of Bioware games, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not playing this. If I had to rate the game, I'd give it a 9/10.

Where to begin...
As I have grown up playing role playing games such as Morrowind and Fallout 3, it was truely a treat to play a game with this amount of depth, character customization, a diverse amount of classes, challenging and tactical gameplay, likeable characters and party members, and an amazing story that will intrigue you from the beginning, considering that this game was made well before my time. If you are a fan of Bioware RPGs and/or Dungeons and Dragons, you are missing out on a truely great experience if you have not played this game yet. As this game is an enhanced edition of a game from the late 90's, the graphics will certianly not please the typical grahics ♥♥♥♥♥. My only complaints are that the pathfinding is not too great at times, and the multiplayer feels like it was added on at the last second; it seems that the developers did not properly accommodate the game mechanics to integrate properly with multiple players. Overall, Baldur's Gate was a fantastic experience, and I'm certianly planning on importing my save onto Baldur's Gate 2.

After playing through the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, I can't help but say that this clearly stands above both respective games in every way possible. If you are a fan of Bioware games and the Star Wars Universe, there is no exuse to not play this game.
10/10
