decent concept but pretty terrible in execution. the controls are super jank which makes actually trying to use strategy impossible. attempting to stamina break someone to punish them for using an ultimate without having already broken yours is impossible since half the time i have to spam the buttons in the hopes that i actually can move. what happens most of the time instead is that the game will just recognize me spamming jump inputs which does nothing meaning that my enemy essentially gets a free ultimate. there is some complexity to the actual fighting systems but its so janky and weird that the only strategy worth using is spamming out attacks in the hopes that something connects and then you one shot them with a single attack. a game where you can customize your own dbz fighter using moves throughout the franchise opens up a lot of possibilities to unique combatants, but it's completely overshadowed by leveling up and just boosting your attack stat to the point where you can end fights with a single move. it might be different in the fair stats online pvp matches but it ruins the rest of the game. i havent played much in regards to online pvp which i can only guess is one of the core aspects of the game, but i am highly discouraged by how terrible it plays against bots. outside of the actual fighting gameplay, its super grindy, p2w, and also extremely janky. i dont want to have to sit and wait for 5 cutscenes ive already seen before load just so i can go back into the mission i failed and then fail again. graphically, the game is pretty, the animations in cutscenes can be off but i suppose i cant critique that since the game is somewhat aged. something that popped up after the main missions in the dlc quests where numerous bugs. one of the main npcs in the story fu is really quiet and the whole first mission had the npc lines completely bugged. the story itself is serviceable, just a retelling of the events of Z and early Super with slight hiccups in regards to time being messed with. this where i feel the most like this game did not get the love it deserved. from the main story to conton city and to the rest of the features, it feels very much like "lets make a dragon ball game" rather than "lets make something awesome". this game may be one that dragon ball fans will continue to love and play and enjoy, but i think thats all this has going for it. overall as an actual game, its not very good.

Early Access Review
♥♥♥♥ whatever twitter cope says, slave sim + animal abuse, Game of the Year right here fellas. Unironically just hours of fun for me and the homies. Game devs are also incredibly based. Game is in early access so there still needs to be some more polish. Climbing can be buggy, some actions have little or very quiet sounds, animations can be off, character creation is pretty terrible (this may be an intentional feature. if so, hilarious, but i'd like for that to be improved on before the full release.), mostly superficial problems that have little effect on gameplay as it stands. Only in the early game atm but it's already amazing. Big W, let me shoot my friends and this can easily become a 10/10.

I don't intend for this to sound mean but this game feels like a mobile game. The HUD, the controls, the gameplay, the quality. I bought this game and Origins and encountered the exact same issues. I haven't followed the Assassin's Creed franchise but I can only guess that these games suffer from a similar problem that something like Call of Duty is infamous for. That problem being that these games are made only to continue the franchise. This is passionless and honestly seemed uninspired and that much was clear before I even began playing. I have fond memories of playing Assassin's Creed on the PS3 when I was a kid so checking out these newer games was disappointing. These games will need to make some serious changes to even be compared to modern triple A titles or be good for that matter, and that would take a team of people passionate about making a genuinely great game.
