Let's start with some positive stuff:
-The original game is still on sale, this is an amazing move by everyone involved and in this day and age where original games get delisted all the time when a remaster comes out I can only praise this situation.
-Game was sold at a huge discount for owners of the original, and even without this discount the game is only 5 more dollars (excluding sales of course, in sales the original is usually sold at around a 2 dollar price)
-The game has finally received a patch that lets you change graphics setings! This doesn't change the new art direction that much but now you can optimize if you don't have a beast PC and you can remove a lot of visual blur with those new settings.
-It includes the director commentary of the original game, which is an amazing watch on the original vision.

Now I do not recommend this Graphical Remaster because the only thing this version adds is a "coop mode" that supports a second controller, you could always play coop with one controller if you wanted but coop was never the intended way to play (something the game even states when you pick coop which I find strange).
And the new graphics, while they can look good in some very specific moments, have completely messed up the character design, art direction and for some reason they also changed the cutscene direction as well. (I find all those 3 changes inferior to the original vision).

So now what would make this game a recommend then? What would appease the fans?
I think the possibility to switch between the original art and cinematic direction would be what is needed.
If this was an option this would be the definitive experience and well worth the price, but now I can only recommend that you play the original, and if you're looking for a coop game by the same team please play It Takes Two instead, it literally has all the coop mechanics of Brothers and more and was BUILT for coop.

I'm absolutely surprised how well the storyline has aged, this may have been written in 2012 but it talks about issues we are confronting right now in 2024.

Just putting this review early to counter the negative spam, capcom has been selling dlc pay to win for years since dmc 5 now, and if you played for like 2 hours you would know you can edit your character ingame with ingame currency...

We have now removed dying from the game as we "don't want to remind some players of tragic events in their life when they want to relax with a video game."

You have to quit the game to keep your unlockables when reloading a save.
The AI is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and very buggy.
Randomly T posing enemies.
What happened and why are the fans praising it?

I really can't see how this game has a very positive rating on steam, it's abolutely baffling. Let's just get through this step by step.

1.Visuals
First the menu visuals are non existent, it seems like this is some sort of free template, the actual game looks bad as well, from the blurry font, to the overblown unreal engine 4 effects, this is a 20 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dollar game mind you and it looks like a free Unreal Engine student project (and I've played a lot more fun free student project than this trash).

2.Story
The story goes from being very predictable to a nice bit of twist that changes the gameplay 5 chapters into the game (that has 7 chapters), apart from the main robot copying Glados the main character is so bland and uninteresting... The ending is also a bit disapointing tbh.

And the worst part of all!

3.Gameplay
The puzzle mechanics are so braindead easy it should be illegal to sell this as a puzzle game, the game had like 6 creative puzzles and these were all the OPTIONAL puzzles you can get for extra lore and achievements. For a puzzle game it commits the two major sins, the first being "the solution is just modifying the base state of the elements", so go in a room, hit every lever once, usually gets you every door opened. The second being "the obvious solution is the correct one", this means you never get tricked by a puzzle, it's always the same thing and it never surprises you.

4.You're being scammed
Yes you who paid 20 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dollars for this game, you are being scammed by a game you can 100% in less than 4 hours, so please save your money, wait for some sales and buy the games that released before this blatant ripoff, mainly:

Portal 1 and 2 (1$ bundle on sale):
https://steamproxy.net/steamstore/app/400/Portal/
https://steamproxy.net/steamstore/app/620/Portal_2/

The entire gameplay loop is going from test chambers to test chambers, just the same, except Portal actually has fun and creative puzzles.

The Talos Principle (4$ on sale): https://steamproxy.net/steamstore/app/257510/The_Talos_Principle/

The entire game philosophy of AI and sentience was already explored in Talos Principle and done much better there!

SOMA (5$ on sale): https://steamproxy.net/steamstore/app/282140/SOMA/

The entire game story about a future where humanity has to make hard choices to save humanity and question exactly what is consciousness was done a lot better in SOMA as well!

To conclude, this has horrible fundamental game design, it is overhyped as ♥♥♥♥ by people who haven't played the three games that Turing Test shamelessly ripped off, it looks like a poorly made unreal engine project made by students and please never pay 20 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dollars for this.

Superior Sekiro:
Free to Play
No runbacks to bosses
Supports more than 60 FPS
No unblockable moves

EDIT after replaying a bit of sekiro:
Deflecting is a lot more rewarding in Kannagi Usagi, as it doesn't add damage to your posture, in Sekiro your posture will always take damage no matter if you block or deflect.
Also no ♥♥♥♥♥♥ camera, the camera in Usagi is absolutely PERFECT! Sekiro's camera gets stuck everywhere and stops locking on randomly.
It's really hard to go back to the jank enemies of Sekiro after playing this game.

The steam version is completely screwed up in terms of performance, if you can find the CD version it will run a lot better.
Still I managed to make it work a bit better by disabling fullscreen optimization and running it in windows XP compatibility.
Because behind all the technical difficulties you have a true masterpiece of presentation and mood, as well as details that the series will never see again.
