I don't know, it's kind of boring me, but maybe because there's no early 2000s nostalgia factor in my experiences, as I'm too young to have lived through the very beginnings of eye cancer-inducing, wacky user-made MySpace pages and such. You basically play as an internet ranger (although lore states the "HypnoSpace" is accessible in users dreams) and are tasked to search the net looking out for illegal content, which you are then required to report in order to earn some money. There's a story going on and stuff and you can also learn a lot about the users and how they interact with each other (it kind of reminds me of "don't feed the monkeys" in terms of observing other people). There's also the possibility to mod a great part of the game interface if you're into that kind of thing.

Overall I'd give this a 6/10, because it's not catching me personally, but other than that, it's a good game and one can tell it was made with lots of love for the early 2000s internet era and its content / aesthethics.

Since I kind of slandered the first part for its unsettling weirdness considering human-cat relations, I guess this part is okay now (or maybe I just got used to it). However, I'm still convinced no normal person would play these kind of games, myself included. Props for the developer for fixing a bug that prevented me from achieving 100%.

7/10, would never play a cat dating simulator again.

I know it's the beginning of January, but this might be one of my favorite games of the year.

"LINGO" has the player exploring a giant map full of differently colored blocks, and each of them is displaying a word as a clue to the solution (another word the player has to type in). The blocks can not only be differently colored, but also at different heights, and both of these factors give the puzzle a different meaning / the player a different instruction.

It can be pretty hard at times and a good knowledge of the english language and some thesaurus help might be required, though I have yet to find some really "exotic" words and it does also feel very rewarding to solve a puzzle on one's own.

Outlining two features I like the most:

1) Definitely the ability to go search the map in other corners, explore, and work on other puzzles when one is stuck, as the gameplay is quite the opposite of linear. In junction to this -

2) It frequently baffled me how I could just run down the same old corridor like 25 times and STILL find a new puzzle I didn't see yet on the 26th try, or a new door that opened and wasn't there before. This has happened multiple times and it makes exploring the map an even more rewarding experience.

Bonus: there's a pretty solid guide explaining the basic puzzle mechanics without spoilering any exact solutions in the community hub, plus the people on the official discord are super friendly and glad to help and give tips and advice.

An honestly earned 10/10.

Good. Maybe a bit pretentious and over the top sometimes, but who am I to judge. Do yourself a favor and get it on sale.
For completionists: the last achievement requires you to cheat or actually let your PC run the game for 24 hours. It really doesn't take 29 hours to complete the whole game otherwise.

Original review: "This game made me *** myself again. 10/10"

Seriously, everyone reading this and having mental issues, please be an responsible adult, take care of yourself and consult people you trust if you're not feeling well. With that being said,

"NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE" is a game where the player dates and (kind of) controls the life and actions of his borderline/bipolar/psychotic/attention-hungry girlfriend Ame (to everyone writing "I can fix her" in the reviews: STOP IT. GET SOME HELP), who is trying to become a successful streamer named KawaiiAngel or short "KAngel".

This young woman needs some serious therapy but is striving for internet fame instead, and so it can be quite a challenge to keep her mood bars in check while trying to maintain a growing viewership, featuring: guilt-tripping, drug abuse, depression, self-harming, suicid(-e/-al thoughts) and overall mental illness and unreflected behavior patterns going beyond several scopes. [Despite the mentioned dark topics, no actual display of blood, nudity or similar shocking themes is involved though.]

In my view and from my personal experience it's a nice fictional study on how untreated bipolar/borderline disorder looks like (please don't quote me on that, as I'm not a medical expert) and also coincidentally constitutes a pleasant gaming experience, making it fun to unlock all of the different (grim) endings and achievements.

INFO for completionists: there's an RNG achievement that unlocks randomly (meaning that statistically speaking, it may never unlock at all), so consider yourself warned.

Bonus shoutout for the really cool soundtrack which I found myself listening to on Spotify even after completing the game because it's kind of addictive.

Overall I'd give this a pretty solid 8,5/10.

Oh no, so where do I start...
It's honestly an entertaining game and has its funny moments and dialogues, if you can look past the dating part. Prior to purchasing it I somehow didn't realize that dating those cats was not optional, and while for example Hatoful Boyfriend (the game where you date high school pigeons) feels so hilariously parodical absurd in itself that it just cannot be taken seriously, this game, on the other hand, uh...I'm sorry, it seems (not only borderline) zoophilic. While the writers tried to somehow scramble how it's actually not into their lore, reading these cringe dialogues frankly made me feel SO WRONG AND UNCOMFORTABLE that I'm honestly surprised not more reviews, other than the polish one, pointed it out. It's sad, because if not for the dating stuff, which overshadows the good parts and actually made me feel physically sick, this game would've just been fun and nothing else. I'll try to get this and the second part refunded, but it probably won't work because of too much play time and bundle purchase.

At first I thought I would be way too slow and stupid to figure it out, but this game gave me more chances than I ever expected, even when I started panicking because the puzzle pieces came falling down faster and faster. It has a good learning curve and can be really fun once you get the gist of it.

It's a cute game that goes into the direction of Animal Crossing / Stardew Valley, but with a way larger open world and a focus on exploration.

Features:

+ large open world with the possibility of doing quests in a non-linear manner (in fact no one's forcing you to do quests at all)
+ the main story isn't really long, but kind of touching in the end.
+ cute and working 3D graphics
+ a variety of things to do like crafting, trading, fishing, gathering resources, expanding farms, searching for collectibles etc.
+ little to no bugs (the ones I found weren't game-breaking)
+ peaceful vibes, good game to just chill. There's no danger, penalties or game over in case you do something wrong.

~ Apart from the occasional grind (ahem, bridges) there's no real difficulty to the game.
~ it's a complete, working game, but not a polished one. The amount of implemented animals for example feels quite limited (given 6 of the 15 animals are literally recolors of the same model) and although I enjoy playing the game a great amount, I somehow can't shake the thought that they just used Yonder for a fundraiser and soon abandoned it for the next project (Grow: Song of the Evertree). There could have been a lot more things to add like dyeable clothing, rideable creatures, more quests etc., but now it's just a maybe 25 hours game experience and nothing more.

- there are some portals only activated at a certain time, and literally no reason to not mark them on the map by name other than making players lives unneccessarily harder.
- Other than for achievements, I see little to no purpose in having and expanding farms. With the barely balanced trading system in Yonder, it's a cool, but in the end kind of useless feature.
- Same with the fireworks. How fireworks were more important than a faster way to travel around the map, or the ability to swim and climb montains properly is honestly beyond me.

All in all, it's a very chill and relaxing game that is fun finishing, but bears no real replay value. I'd give it an 8/10 and recommend buying it on sale.

I personally longed for a bit more action and a less foreseeable plot to be honest. With that being said, it's not a bad game...just not my case.
