This review is only just a positive, the game-play is fantastic and the characters feel great, but the game is sorely lacking in PvE content and the micro transactions feel a bit ridiculous. (Also, still no Tag ladder!!!)

Until they add more content and tone down the micro transactions, I'd recommend this on sale. But I can't deny the game play is very satisfying and a step up from MK11.

Easily one of the best coop games I've ever played. Day 1 I had a good few crashes, but have had no issues on day 2 and I'm loving every minute of this game!
It feels like a game the devs have really put some thought and passion into, so that you can make some great memories with friends (And make new ones)
It seems to take heavy inspiration from Starship Troopers and I love that, the satire is on point.

Pick it up, you won't regret it

#Update#

They have started putting stratagems in the season passes, which is a slippery slope leading to scummy practices. Slowly the FOMO and pay to win will creep in if they keep this up. Yes I'm aware you can earn currency in game, but it takes forever. Keep stratagems separate!

Larian has always been a gaming company that should set the standard for how games should be made. They listen to their fans and are truly passionate about the games they make. £50 for a finished game full of quests, character development and replayability, no micro transactions, FOMO or constant cosmetic store popups. They have just proven that micro transactions are not a necessity to make your game successful. I cannot give this game high enough praise and I look forward to Larian's next project. If you're on the fence about picking this up, I promise you it is worth the money.

I got this on sale to continue the story from MW1 (As MW1's story was actually great) but I am bitterly disappointed.I wish I could get my money back from this hot pile of Garbage, but it seems I'm stuck with it now.The story started strong but soon went downhill with these ridiculous Fast and Furious type missions. The Multiplayer sucks, it's just a massive campfest, it's not fun at all. You spawn and get shot by either an APC or a sniper on the other side of the map sitting on a roof. All the maps are designed for snipers, so if you want to use anything else good luck. Also there are only a couple of Spec Ops missions and they're awful. I believe the original MW2 had 25 spec ops missions on release! And they were great missions, how have we gone so far backwards?I tried to get my money's worth by playing the multiplayer and spec ops for a while, but it's just so so bad, I can't do it anymore. Oh and btw, despite all the bugs and lag, the microtransaction store works just fine! And they'll remind you of it constantly with bundle popups for £17 a pop!Do not support these greedy devs who no longer make games for their fans, I wish I hadn't. Go pick up Waw, black ops, MW2 2009 or MW3 etc. Instead and get an actual good fully finished game.

This would be a good game if not for greedy devs.

Multiplayer is cancerous, there is no way for new players to do well. You get matched with players far above your skill level, with all their weapons already upgraded, killstreaks and perks unlocked and they know all the sweaty spots to camp and spawnkill you. Whilst you are stuck with stock weapons, stock killstreaks and perks and 0 knowledge of maps. The community is also incredibly toxic and unhelpful.

The micro-transactions are utterly ridiculous. There are popups all over the place for weapon, vehicle and operator skins, each around 2,200 Battle coins a pop (Roughly £17 a pop) and there are tonnes of these packs. Constant popups telling me to buy skins are annoying. This also includes purchasable Double XP tokens... That is something Free 2 play games have. Greedy practices for an already triple AAA full price game.

Now the Co-op is also sad, you cannot play the Special Operation missions solo or in private matches, you can only level up in survival mode if you play public matches, and there is no way to choose the difficulty. It is always stuck at an Arbitrarily hard setting. Now I have managed to get on with this fine, but not being able to alter your difficulty is stupid. It is clear the devs do not care for co-op, and simply want to milk as much money as they possibly can from the multiplayer.

Also the campaign has not even been launching, I'll update this after I get to actually work

(EDIT)
After playing the campaign, I would recommend it on sale. The campaign was actually really well done and has more of that classic COD feel, it's a shame that the other areas of the game are so lacking.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a game with very few flaws, the single player campaign as an excellent range of mission types, from cinematic fortress defences to room to room tactical squad based missions, all complete with a unique variety of units to play with.

The cutscenes are spot on Starship Troopers style, with the trusty Federation Spokesperson narrating.

The line of sight mechanic is very nice, making you think about your approach and allowing the bugs to spring traps if you're not careful.

I only wish to see how much more they could have done with this game with a bigger budget! (P.S PLEASE ADD COOP)

Are you ready to do your part?

I've played this game for many hours and had lots of mindless shooting fun, it's a simple, straightforward badass survival shooter where you mow down hordes of Aliens, I have no problem with that.

However I cannot recommend this game due to the absolute Fraud that is the Deluxe edition removal and addition of the "Ultimate Edition" What a way to crap all over your player base that have been there since day 1. I feel like my money has been wasted.

I will not be buying the Pathogen DLC purely on principle
