I remembered when I stumbled upon this game while browsing the recommendations in the discovery queue. Fascinated by how such a game with Overwhelmingly Positive reviews was unbeknownst to me up till that point, I watched the trailer and was mesmerized by the tone and theme the game presented itself with. Soon afterwards, I bought Kenshi and have enjoyed it ever since. This is still a game that brings me back, with it's countless replayability and the sheer number of mods that the workshop community has produced. I look very forward to the release of it's sequel.

It's important to know that this game isn't really a "prequel" to Remnant in the sense that it's a title released before it. As a matter of fact, Chronos actually came first as a VR title back in 2016 before it got overhauled for other platforms in 2020. Therefore Remnant would technically be a sequel to Chronos, with Chronos being the first in the series. I am explaining this because I have seen way too many reviewers criticizing the game for being a "prequel" to Remnant, with the accusation of "reused assets" and a more simplified UI. It is completely illogical and unfair that you would negatively compare the game to it's sequel while pretending that it is a "prequel" and giving it the expectation that it should somehow magically be better than a game that haven't came out yet when it was originally released. Chronos itself introduced a very interesting take in the souls-like genre through it's punishing but interesting death mechanics. The OST is beautiful, and the use of puzzles were engaging. To anyone who is interest, I heavily recommend playing this as it is a great introduction into the world of Remnant.

I decided to play this game after playing a bit of Original Sin 1 and 2 because I wanted to start from the beginning of Divinity series. I am surprised to say that despite the aged graphics, this game hold pretty well in everything. The best parts about this game in my opinion was the humor and the soundtrack. The OST is REALLY good. And the humor is really well integrated. I never expected a game from the early 2000's to engage me with music and clever humor but this game did. Definitely worth the money, and now I'm off to play the other 4 divinity games!

The screen goes black and the game freezes every time I finish customizing my character at new game. No alt-tabbing, no ctrl alt delete, nada. The only way I could ever get out of this crash is by turning my computer off. For some magical reason you need to install a community mod from the internet to even start the game which is just ridiculous. Why do we as the customer have to do extra work just to start playing a game we already payed money for? I might as well just watch a lets play series or look up the story on the internet. I'm not gonna waste any more time trying to fix an un-launchable game that was apparently a disappointment the time it came out anyway. To anyone who got this from the bundle like me, kudos if you were able to start it up. I was really looking forward to play the entirety of a fantastic franchise, but I guess I could still do that by skipping this, and play the prequel games.

Of all the countless games I've played, this is the first game I've decided to write a review about because this is one of THE BEST games I have ever played in a long time. The narrative and plot is really, REALLY good. I thought I would never experiance a good game story for a while but this one proved me wrong. EVERYTHING about this game is fantastic, the story is immersive, the gameplay is fun, and the soundtrack is phenominal. Seriosly the soundtrack in this game is one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard.
The game doesn't use the traditional realistic or pixelated graphics but instead incorporates it's own artstyle and this artstyle is absolutely beautiful, the way the game renders is breathtaking and is a unique way in contributing to the narrator's storytelling.
The characters are outstandingly well written thanks to the terrific narrative. Each one feels really unique and their backstoriess help the player symphasize with them. This makes the player choices in the game difficult to make since it directly affects the characters that the player has become attached to.

The World of Bastion is so unique and immersive. The Narrator does a terrific job in fleshing out the world to the player and keeps players interested in learning more about it and what tragedy has befallen it.

The soundtrack is most definetely one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. Each song superbley sets the tone and pace of each scene and is absolutely beautiful to listen to.

This game is one of the very few games you need to play before you die
