This is actually a love letter for the developers.

Following the launch of Quest for Glory 4 in 1993, the series got canceled. Fans immediately deluged Sierra with petitions and in 1998 the last entry in the Quest for Glory franchise came out (Dragon's Fire).
After some time playing the hell out of the fifth and final entry back in the day, I ran into a text file inside the game's folder called Special.txt. It said:

...
Well, this is it. Your long wait is finally over.
This is the final episode of Quest for Glory.

We'd like you to plan to finish Quest for Glory 5 on your own, without any hints.
It might be frustrating but just savor the game. It'll be over sooner than you wish.
Don't let anyone spoil things for you.
Once you finish, you'll have wonderful memories of the journey.
We'll miss you...

When I got this on Steam, the first thing I did was open the QfG5's folder to search for that text file, and to my delight it was there. I was only a kid the first time I read this and it seems like it happened yesterday.

It was never frustrating and although it does have an ending, it will never be over for me. I never stopped playing QfG and I never will. I do have wonferful memories and if I close my eyes for just a second while listening to Silmaria's tune, I can travel back in time.

This is the most beautiful and meaningful universe I have ever had the pleasure of exploring.
These are the best games I have ever played.
