They changed a lot of details, as well as significant things that were important to the game's story, atmosphere, symbolism, and original intentions. Often, it's not only different, but straight-up worse. This version is much more casual, toned down, censored, repetitive, and dragged out for no reason, and it fails to achieve the dream-like, eerie atmosphere of the original.

Then they hired a narrative consulting studio, similar to SBI, and I would attribute some of these changes to them (reason enough to at least set sail).

One example: In the final letter-read, it's fine that the voice acting is worse, since the entire thing was perfect, and everyone can agree on that. However, there was no reason to change the voice lines and, with them, the whole point and meaning. So unnecessary—change for the sake of change or DEI, both pointless.

Unfortunately, they didn't create a better version of the game, just a different one. Overall, worse to me.
