The game is actually pay to win. You are allowed to buy a chest plate that reduces your dmg by 75%... equipment that x2.3 your storage. It is a huge advantage offered to those that wish to spend money. You lose all items when you die, but of course you can get storage to save your items. If you don't spend money you get 2 slots if you pay you get 18 :) enjoy!

Would like to start off by saying I have A LOT more hours as I played it on a friends PC and absolutely loved it. I will also focus on an aspect I didn't really see a lot of people talking about in the reviews that I regard as a pretty big reason why I recommend this game to everyone.

Not just the design and the amazing way this game manages to create an atmosphere but the FREEDOM that gives you to enjoy and have fun in your own way.

You feel like a mechanic is too harsh? Adjust your experience and make it more forgiving in the options. You want a real challenge and no forgiveness? Go ahead. Tune it the way you want to tune it. Instead of waiting on the mod community to do the DEVs job like so many big titles, Pacific Drive stands as a GOLDEN example on how to treat and cater to every player this game attracts while staying true to its values and experience the devs want you to have.

Nothing I came across in the game that I didn't like couldn't be tuned to where I liked it. It was a surreal experience. This also allows more fun and replay-ability into the game. At a certain point the vanilla experience will become easy as you master the game which isn't a problem when I can make it infinitely more difficult either step by step or all at once.

THE BAD:
I wish I could customize the interior of the car.

Nothing is really explained. The main issue of the game is STILL not fixed. Call of Duty meta is alive and well (downing people is the best option) Items that confuse players are good but there are so many people its impossible to keep track without communicating. This game is designed to be played by 9 IRL friends which is a big problem for obvious reasons. So stay away if you dont have 9 friends to play this lol otherwise its a good game.

It got reviewed bombed because people are sick of not having a working product. However the team responded quickly and effectively and solved the issue by updating the game (at least for me). there is another patch already scheduled 1h from the time im posting this. Now about the game.

It has a fun loop, it actually has bullet management so you cant just spam 24/7 and you cant just reload whenever as you actually throw away the mag and any bullets left in it. There are main objectives on the map but if you will just do those instead of risking it your progression will be slowed down significantly. There are points of interest that provide you with 2 types of currency that you can only earn by playing.

There are 2 battlepass like progressions all of which require medals to progress through. You can NOT buy medals you must earn or find them (in mentioned points of interest) so it is a free to play ONLY battle pass system. There is 1 premium currency which !UNBELIEVABLY SO! is priced in favor of the consumer probably for the first time in gaming history.

For 20$ (which is the biggest pack) you get 2100 currency for SKINS only. The most expensive skin is 250 meaning you can buy 8 skins and have some left over so it is at most 2.50$ for the most expensive skin.

The other currency you collect on points of interest is used to upgrade your ship which changes the look but also helps you on the ground through various ways, all the upgrades and progression is tool oriented. Meaning you still need a brain and you need to utilize these tools. Which means there will NEVER be OP players that one shot everything and everyone (IMHO that is the best direction). Tools are progressively better but since you can kill yourself and the team you need to be progressively more careful with the tools you are given.

Also Supderman can be the voice of your character.

Reasons NOT to play;
1. Buggy
2. Cheaters
3. Crashes
4. Cant load textures
5. E-Shop Simulator
6. Everything is about having a load-out which you cant get until you grind..unless you pay THAN you may play
7. You updated the game? You may not play anymore
8. Optimization? Never knew her.

A multi million $ company cant add PlayStation controller support on their $70 fighting game. Keep in mind we have random 2 people indie companies adding more support to their story driven game for every controller in the book. What a embarrassment you are.

Servers cant detect where you are its placing me in America 1 while I am actually Europe 2. Its doing this to 10 other people I know. There is no fix or acknowledgment by the devs.

Issues still not fixed there is also a problem with visual and hitboxes. For example Jins laser will be inside someone head yet they will not take dmg until a bit later so that they can still dodge despite it already hitting them visually.

Further more there is a opposite effect with other characters where they will clearly miss visually but than hit anyway. All replays will be deleted today by the dev team once they update the game, this will happen in the future as well.

EDIT: BATTLE PASS IN A $70 GAME AFTER RELEASE! DISGUSTING.

Constant crashes since the update. Every update breaks the game a little more. Only reason why I even got this is to play with friends now I cant even do that, Jesus fing Christ you are a multi billion $ company..I guess that doesnt matter when all the talent leaves you and all you are left is a shell of once a great IP.

Endless crashing, unfinished product. Everyone's CPU is running at max capacity no optimization what so ever. Wish there was a way to not Q with anyone without a mic as the game is a very dif experience and almost no one uses a mic.

It does not have PlayStation controller support.

It could be really good tho there is no reward for hitting the beats meaning you can spam click.
Weapons have no cool-down meaning the faster the beat the more they shoot. Some can 3 shot you so you can get the idea how bad it is.
