Having played Age of Mythology for nearly 20 years, I have a deep appreciation for it. However, I have some concerns about its current state, particularly regarding the A.I. I was hoping for an experience similar to Age of Empires IV, but instead, the A.I. in this game struggles significantly. It can't navigate water, and when on land, it engages in overly aggressive tactics without adequate defense. While I still enjoy many aspects of Age of Mythology, the A.I. is a critical component that falls short. Given these issues, I find it hard to recommend the game in its current state.

Totally Recommend

World is great, very open, much pretty
Combat is satisfying
Soundtrack is amazing

But..

It does all feel a bit generic
Very little enemy diversity
No particular notable or challenging enemies
or any challenge at all really
Story is pretty mediocre
Dialogue choices in the end felt like they didn’t even matter
HUD is obtrusive

Gud Game

A game so nice, I bought it twice
10/10 Would buy another 10 times

Single player is great but multiplayer is a mess of constant crashes, black screens, and freezes.
Would love to be able to play with friends but despite turning off my firewall, changing my resolution, turning off random other in-game settings in the attempt to play for more than 15 minutes with friends, it's just not happening.

10/10 if you have no friends and no desire to play multiplayer
