- 8 tablets of Sudafed (pseudoephedrine)
- 20 ml hydrochloric acid (acid)
- 1 g lithium or sodium (reactive metal)
- 150 ml ether or Coleman fuel (solvent)
- 20 g iodine crystals
- 30 g red phosphorus
- 40 ml methyl iodide
- heat-resistant glass container

1. Crush 8 tablets of Sudafed into a fine powder.
2. In a seperate containers, dissolve 20 g iodine crystals and 30 g of red phosphorus in 150 ml of ether or Coleman fuel.
3. Cut 1 g of lithium or sodium into small pieces and set aside.
4. Add the Sudafed powder and reactive metal pieces to the container with the solvent, iodine, and red phosphorus. Seal the container and shake it to mix the ingredients.
5. Add 40 ml of methyl iodide to the mixture and shake vigorously. This step will methylate the Sudafed and create methamphetamine.
6. Slowly pour 20 ml of hydrochloric acid into the mixture while continuing to shake the container.
7. Wait for 20-30 minutes for the reaction to complete.
8. Filter the mixture to remove any solid particles or residue.
9. Transfer the filtered mixture to a heat-resistant glass container and evaporate the solvent by placing the container in a larger container of boiling water.
10. The remaining solid material is methamphetamine.
