Played the Demo, loved the Art, hated the game design.

The designers behind this game somehow decided they did not need to know how other games like this performed in the market and decided to make every mistake the other games made as if they somehow would be the ones to succeed where all others failed. (Not to mention the unique choices they made that were somehow just as bad)

And holy HELL what is that skirmish menu? why are you trying to reinvent the wheel ?

We do not want E-sport chasing wannabe "RTS" lane battling games. Make a good RTS and maybe the community will make custom modes like that eventually. maybe not. its not the main reason people play these games.

Just absolutely terrible in about every way i can explain.

Game is great fun!

On a serious note. don't support CA, don't go down the rabbit hole and don't get sucked into this walking sunk cost falacy.

go play Baldur's Gate 3 or Pillars of Eternity. They'll respect both your time and wallet far more then CA will. they certainly deserve your attention more then this repugnant buggy mess does."

The above was my Original review. it still stands for various reasons BUT things have since gotten worse and ever so slightly better.

Absolutely amazing game!

I have definitely gotten my moneys worth and would highly recommend.

My original review from sometime shortly after launch no longer reflects the state of the game so here is an Update.

If you enjoy Team based, Action Shooters Fatsharks Darktide is now a really well made and fun game.

It's social features are finally mostly-functional and has some nice QoL features previous games from the company lacked.

Crafting system is still unnacceptable due to only being able to fix two things per weapon. you end up spamming the Armory to get good stats on a weapon, only to invest a lot of hard-earned resources only to end up with 3 or 4 things wrong with it and you can't fix them all. Lets hope you rolled another one with decent stats before you bankrupted yourself

There is FINALLY a good selection of maps with interesting difficulties although it is still held back by the fact you cannot load up SPECIFIC missions with SPECIFIC modifiers to play with when you want to.

While most of the abilites and talents are great there still some that dont work, some that are plain terrible and plenty that are just outclassed. so while the system is better then at launch, there are still too many dominant strategies leading to repeated selections

Cash shop still has FOMO. and is still 50% more expensive then what is sane. OH and there are no Female Meshed outfits so if you made a female and just want basic/realistic proportions what so ever go look at the sun, sure it's pretty but damn does it hurt to look at.

cosmetic content is overpriced. (Buy the classes but don't bother with the cosmetics even if money isn't an issue. just don't)


Its hard for me to say really. i love playing with my mates, they've done fairly good with the Chaos Wastes, making it free was a nice touch but then charging $50 something for one outfit per character is just insulting (Considering the outfits in game are ALL just recolours, nothing but recolours) and it destroys any good will earned by the Free expansion, i try not to complain too much about bugs on launch. but they are pretty stupid at times. Its still fun to crack rat skulls though, they did that good. for that alone i have to recommend it.

Get it on sale. get it with some good friends.

I picked this game up back in 2014, it was a hot piece of garbage then and it still is. Do not buy this, i was 16 back then, i thought it would get better and be worth the money i spent on it. i waited too long to get a refund,

There are two things about this game that make me furious as times
1. How obscene the grind can be/How totally screwed RNG is
2. Lack of worthwhile Endgame content.

Any other issues it has annoy too little to make the list

Otherwise? It is downright phenomenal. it has a noteworthy learning curve that i am still on occasion smacked in the face with but there is ridiculous levels of customisation (Many bought through premium currency, others bought here on steam, AKA the best ones)

Its one hell of a Grindy Shooter Looter that does provide various ways of play. not just through the Warframes and Weapons themselves but through the many mission types in conjunction with the randomly generated tile sets per faction.

On top of the fact that you often get massive discounts on purchasing aforementioned premium currency? DE does a good job with its in-game purchases.

Basically: Get it. Play it. Love it.

(Beware however. some frames that catch your attention fall under what i first mentioned about RNG and Grind. but you can skip that grind to straight up buy the frame. doing so has it come with extra goodies so, in a couple cases that might be worth doing)
