spent nine hours building a house because you spend years gathering wood in order to make anything cool. only to be stopped due to the fact developers think they're being creative by adding a stability mechanic. then in the process of being forced to gather new "tougher" wood. all my progress being reset from two trolls spawning and destroying my decaying base due to not being able to put a roof on my home. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. thanks for wasting nine hours of my life that i wont get back.

incredibly clunky mechanics make this game infuriating to play. coming from someone who grew up on platformers. you really need some sort of fluidity. in this game. there is none. climbing anything gives you a 50/50 chance of actually making onto the one or two pixels needed to actually climb up. and if you do, you better not press a direction key in any other direction. i know in an upcoming patch they will be adding mouse aiming. which is a great step in the direction of making things feel more fluid. but it honestly shouldve been one of the first things changed in a "remaster". i dont think ive met a single person whos played ror1 and enjoyed that very outdated/sticky feeling mechanic. then locking honestly lukewarm items behind trials where you are forced to engage in these very clunky mechanics is ridiculous. welcome to ror1 w a new coat of paint and some new, alright, items. i want to like this game. its visuals and music are phenomenal. im a huge fan of ror2, and played it when it was in early access. when learning of the remaster. i held out hope these issues would be fixed from the first game. but every run in rorR. i can find myself only getting angry because i died due to mechanics that shouldve been smoothed over. befitting the title of an actual remake/remaster. this is same old clunky ror1 that you no longer have to have the knowledge of port forwarding in order to play with friends.
