Project Zomboid is a great but very punishing survival game, it is super detailed and realistic in many places, so you have to put some time and work into the game until you achieve something great. But it is quite complicated at the beginning because there are quite a few submenus, although many things are quite intuitive, but with time you get good at it. There is singleplayer as well as multiplayer and both modes are unique in their own way. The skill system is kept quite simple and therefore very easy to understand. The zombies are quite well made (except for a few small problems with spawning and fighting) where single zombies are hardly a problem, multiple zombies can quickly become a big problem without a proper plan and knowledge of how the zombies work. It also has a large modding community that bring numerous mods into the game from simple quality of life mods to large weapons and cars mods that bring hundreds of new weapons and cars into the game, so a look in the workshop is definitely worth it. I can definitely recommend it especially in multiplayer with friends.
