Written Review:

As someone who's played since the Destiny 1 Beta, I've had my fair share of bad campaigns and good ones. Yes the server errors have caused a lot of frustration, but those are already mostly resolved so I won't factor it into my review.

This campaign is BY far the best campaign Destiny 2 has had since Forsaken, and may even surpass it in terms of narrative quality. The story beats, cutscenes, pacing and respect for the past decade of lore is obviously apparent throughout the new linear mission format. As for content past the story, there hasn't been this much discovery/unannounced new content since King's Fall in Destiny 1. The QoL changes are everywhere and noticeable, the game is streamlined for hardcore veterans and new players alike, as many of my friends only recently got into Destiny 2 a few weeks ago, while some like me have been playing since launch, yet all of us have been enjoying the (legendary) campaign at our own paces!

If you want something to shake up the 4X Genre, this is it, the level of customization and detail is insane. I've had 1 crash so far but other than that the game runs smooth as butter with a consistent 165 fps on max settings. The gameplay is simple but has a LOT of area for skill-expression and personal improvement as you learn cool combos and how the game goes. I definitely recommend giving it a try, as me and my friends will be having a blast making stellaris-level of custom nations to play with

Early Access Review
Despite being in early access, this feels like the Dune RTS/Board-Game I never knew I needed, it's so simple and easy to get into at first, yet so many ways to improve and cleverly outsmart your opponents, not to mention it's very aesthetically pleasing with the graphics, I found myself playing match after match all weekend

I've played dozens of survival games, ranging from Ark to more story-driven games like the Forest, and Icarus has to be one of my favorite games to come out recently, I love how unforgiving the game can be, and how it actually feels impactful/good to progress through and unlock better tools and technologies. I highly recommend giving this game with a try ESPECIALLY with a group of friends.

Very fun overall game, allowed for a lot of teamwork but also individual growth and adventuring!
