I loved Castlevania Symphony of the Night back in the 1990s. This is generally a very solid spiritual successor to it. There are the occasional game bugs I've come across but nothing that completely ruins the experience, which I've found to be close to the same feeling I got from playing Symphony back then. Thank you for bringing some single player joy to this gamer's life. I am looking forward to seeing what they do with Bloodstained II and hope that they can learn a lot from the process of making this one. BTW the extra modes in this game are worth checking out if you like classic whip 'vanias.

I've played this game since it's original release and clocked about 110 hours on it even before it came to steam recently. I absolutely love this game. Each character has their own unique talents and weaknesses and there are tons of specialized builds you can set up using gifts from leveling up. You can also adjust individual characteristics and game parameters inside the shop to customize the kind of gameplay you want (stronger characters, more enemies, etc.)

Hereafter I will refer to the time spent clearing a stage as a "round". I like that most rounds take about twenty minutes or so, assuming you don't get defeated along the way. It can be hard to find time to game and this is something that's easy to fit into the schedule. It can also run on a potato computer and is free. Controller support is also good, and I appreciate the tactile notification that a special attack has finished cooldown through a controller rumble.

I like the in-game music but I've heard it so much and so often that I've switched over to my own custom mix of songs and videogame OST while I play the game. I typically launch kodi first (with dlna playback enabled) and then start up the music player on my phone. My music player can output in DLNA or Airplay, and that is played back in kodi. Then I start Holocure and play it.

Anyway, TLDR: this is an excellent fangame and I think you'll really like it a lot. Thank you very much, Kay Yu and all the other holocure devs.

This is an extremely strong recommendation from me just based on the minigames. I was studying in Japan when the lockdowns started and I could not go anywhere. So I went to places virtually in Yakuza 0 - to batting cages, karaoke shops, pool halls where I played billiards and darts, to toy race car racing events, to a bowling alley, and arcades. I had fun playing these minigames and it cheered me up. This game helped me keep my spirits up during a very sad part of my life and I have total respect for SEGA for making this fantastic title.

I've been playing with a ps2 controller through a usb adapter. I am able to enjoy almost the same controls I did back when I was playing on ps4 and I'm thankful for that. This game is a meditative act, and it's fun to reconnect the country while sharing the work with other players.

I mostly use this to look at content on kodi via remote desktop. I conjure up a virtual movie theatre and watch it there. A movie theatre with no people talking on phones, or using apps, or walking in front of me, and the movies are ones I want to see. Love it!

This is a nice, challenging game that's easy to pick up. It doesn't take too long to play a round or two in free play and doing so can unlock clothes for the cute girls to wear. Free play also allows you to get used to the song patterns which will be handy when you switch to story or arcade mode. The game itself is simple, challenging fun. At this price it's a recommend, and it's definitely worth acquiring when it goes on sale.
Mirai is the best girl because flat is justice.

This is a fantastic fighting game. If you like anime airdashers, this is among the best if not the best to play. It has a strong, dedicated community and will keep you busy for a long time.

This is a game you might put down for a while, but one you'll come back to. There are tons of mods that add new content for it, so you get a ton of value for the low price you pay for it.

I would recommend Rosenkruez Stillete and its sequel instead. Although they are doujin games, they have more of what made Megaman fun to play than Mighty no. 9. Comcept's game feels rushed and extremely bland. I hate to say this after having backed its Kickstarter, but the game is not enjoyable to play, and that's a shame.
