Final note: Do not report any infected accounts; These accounts almost always belong to regular Steam users who have fallen victim to this hacker. Instead, block them, though I only reccomend this if you have other means of contact with said account, and its proper owner (if it's your friend). In any situation regarding a hacked account, warn the friends of said account, and spread the message.

Malicious scammers are hacking into accounts as of recently. They could take control of anyone's account, including your friends'. Please be careful, and be extremely cautious when opening links sent by people, even if they're your friends; these hackers take control of accounts using a software embedded in links. If anyone makes an unreal trade offer, or begins talking differently, inspect their profile to check if they are promoting "Community admins". These, in short, are the people who have been hacked. From my personal experience, this hacker, using one of my friend's accounts, told me that I had apparently been accused of duplicating items in Team Fortress 2, and told me to "verify the validity" of all of my strange items, via trade. This was an obvious scam attempt, but regardless, I got off lucky. Do not report any of these accounts, as they are not the hacker's, but merely the accounts of innocent users, whose accounts are basically being held hostage by this scammer.
