fun game play loop ruined by optimization for competition. dont want to be clicking pixels and getting stomped because i dont have the muscle memory developed to check every possible sightline when fast peaking. i see why the community is so toxic, its not to hard to understand concepts like cs strafing, reticle disipline, positioning, and sight line management, however when you are matched against people who are simply/outright better than you at it despite improving it proves to provide gameplay loop for the mentally deranged.

i think this game is for competitive egos, which tend to encapsulate young men with maladaptive theories of mind at the very least. at the worst you will be interacting with people on the antisocial personality spectrum.

weird app, thought i could work on conversation skills through this and while it has improved my understanding of socializing, it is simply an inefficient method of bettering socialization skills.

i think i better understand the interplay of identity, mental health, and norms/virtues through my time on VR chat. i have also analyzed my actions in comparison to those that frequently inhabit vr chat. i have gone through rapid personality development and am further captivated by humans as a concept. the best/worst part is realizing when the abyss is staring back at you and the reason you are shocked by an individual's behavior is because they remind you of yourself or someone you know personally.

however the likelihood of you making genuine bonds, not those centered around pleasure/entertainment/stimulation/distraction are very low. even individuals who are more adept at communicating will remind you that this is VRchat and you have come to the wrong place to chat. I caution against playing with a VR head set, and think full tracking might as well be synonymous with selling a section of your soul.

maybe i have a deep misunderstanding of what conversation ought to be, but for the most part users dont conversate and prefer to preform/occupy their perceived role in the symphony of chaos, anguish, hedonism, escapism, cynicism, and preformative mental illness that is VRchat.

get scratched on every part of my body.
start to feel unwell, figure its from my wounds
no sign of infection as wounds heal.
3 days pass and im feeling very unwelll
i write my partner a note telling them now's their chance to fill up that black truck we hotwired.
run completely naked into the hoards shouting to get their attention
i get them away from the gas station and lead them into the residential area
break into a broken down ambulance, hotwire it, and funnily enough, it drives
it breaks down every 5 seconds but it drives
immeadiately set the sirens to wailing
there are now many zombies
drive full speed into the forest hoping to die by car accident
severly injured, I limp into the trees to escape the horde
i make it back to the safe house, hand my partner my trusty leaded pipe,
"look me in the eyes while you do it"
it takes one swing and my life is extinguished

fun game, like awesomenauts but worse

250+ hours in

there's still more ways i can improve,

this game is very fundamentally and mechanically demanding.

learning the ai patterns and how to flow through battles with each class takes time.

every gun, every item, every class, and every module is viable, however some more than others, you just have to play around their strengths and weaknesses. some encourage more tactical/aggresive play styles.

a bargain at $20, an absolute steal at $5

i recommend starting with hardcore, flinch, and fragile off, but keep every other modifier on.
