Very fun strategy game, especially if you enjoy the WHFB setting. 8-player multiplayer is also pretty fun, although the experience is much slower since you're limited by the worst hardware of the group. Very expensive to get into though.

True hours played are probably over 1000 as I've been playing NWN regularly since the release of SoU back in 2003. Beamdog has really impressed me with this enhanced edition. Between including popular fan made mods as baseline and the premium mods they're releasing as well as updated multiplayer support they've successfully revitalized a game that relies on its community. If you're a fan of CRPG's this is a must buy. It's not as challenging as Owlcat's Pathfinder games, but it provides several enjoyable stories with many more to come.

If you're a fan of CRPG's this is absolutely a game you should pick up. I'm not sure what it was about kingmaker; I ended up putting ~40 hours into the game but it lost my interest over time after the conclusion of Act 1 and I just ended up dropping it. So far I'm about to enter Act 3 of WotR and it has kept me hooked the entire way through.

I find it more constructive to list criticisms of the game so I'll list my four big ones now.

1. I still find the over-world movement to be clunky. This is absolutely a personal issue but I still prefer Neverwinter Nights or Baldur's Gate (both games I have 100's of hours in) where zones directly connect to each other without the need for an over-world map. I will note that the map does make the game world feel larger.

2. Sudden forced events serve as massive spikes in difficulty. There are two specific examples for this complaint: 1. the tavern defence, and 2: the gargoyle invasion. In the latter specifically I was out adventuring and had just returned to camp when it occurred so I was at near tier 3 corruption and almost out of scrolls/potions. I had made it to the last boss of the zone using all resources available to me and falling to tier 3 corruption. I attempted him for nearly 2 hours in tactical mode before finally biting the bullet and lowering the difficulty from core to normal, where we proceeded to kill him in 30 seconds. It feels really bad to have to lower the difficulty for what seems to be no fault of your own. I could have reloaded an earlier save, but by the time I realised how long the scenario was going to be at that point I would lose hours of playtime. The tavern defence was similar but because you got to shop and sleep beforehand it was much less extreme.

3. The crusade battles. I understand they're trying to emulate HoMM5 but the units and hero abilities come out much more bland and the game mode lacks all the charm the HoMM series has. It just serves to take you out of the game and results in auto resolving to clear the content as fast as possible.

4. Kingdom management mechanics. I've only just started this so I don't know if it's as bad as it was in Kingmaker but I loathed this aspect in Kingmaker, and eventually gave up on it entirely allowing it to enter the 'no-fail' mode.

Hooked me in with the hardcore mode. Died a half dozen times at level 3/4 and then made it to 6-7 only to get 1 shot after rolling a 1 on reflex save. Was frustrating but got me to move over to the softcore servers and had a tonne of fun leveling with two irl friends. We're currently at level 12 and the community (while sparse) are all very friendly and more than willing to answer questions and explain the complex gearing and leveling systems. If you enjoy MMO's and theorycrafting cool niche builds this is a game you'll enjoy.

If you're looking to get into the game I highly recommend going the VIP route at $10/month. This will get you all races/classes and adventures (but not expansions). It's made a little bit easier in a group as only 1 person needs to own VIP or expansions to give the entire party access to the content, so find a friend in game who has access to the stuff and level up with him, or if you're coming in with a group of friends you can pool some cash and buy the content on a single account so all 6 of you can get access to it.

Good game made better by good friends. Hunger mechanic is frustrating but forces you to ration food among players according to their usefulness. The minotaur mechanic forces you to be quick and not spend too much time preparing for the next round. Additionally the rogue-like elements mean that even if you die, starting over is a fast and enjoyable experience.

A fantastic game. The single player is good, the Ultramarines come across as threatened and relatable (an issue I know many fans have with the chapter). The game does a fantastic job at capturing the sound and feel of being a space marine.

The game really shines in the multiplayer. Unfortunantly, the game is heavily balanced for veteren players. What I mean by this is that until you reach level ~17 (a few hours of gameplay) you will feel like you're playing with half your tools; and you will be. Once you've unlocked all your gear and found what set ups work well for you the game is fantastic.

Currently people play classic dominion, exterminatus, and little else. Still, you can find a populated game at most times throughout the day. Join the discord to find out when the community holds special events for other game types, specifically dreadnaught.

I honestly cannot recommend this game to anyone looking for an enjoyable game. Having put hundreds of hours into early Medal of Honor games, and CoD mw 1+2, I consider myself experienced with FPS's at least. Now with that in mind, this game is not at all balanced. Some of my issues include
- Games that actively crash after 30+ mins of gameplay, giving you no reward
- Actively matched with played significantly higher level
- Unreliable servers, which are frequently down for maintanence
- Huge disbalance in 'class' types, which require tens of hours to grind (or buy them for ~$25!)
- Huge disbalance in weapons, with american guns outmatching both german and soviet at every level

This game was so much fun at a low level when everyone had the same gun in the encounter map. But as soon as you gain a few levels it is constant death with 80% of players spawn camping with a sniper. I fondly recall one moment where I spawned in and drove out of the spawn with my blitz truck and buddy in the passenger seat. We both hold cover as we drive, and a sniper multiple kilometers away from inside a building shoots through the passenger side window headshoting me, then as the truck stops killing my passenger. I don't know if it was mad luck or autoaim hacks (which many players claim exist in the game) but it was one hell of a shot, and put me on one hell of a tilt.
