This game is a lot of fun. The puzzles were clever and the atmosphere was well done. It’s not a very long game (mine says completed in 14 hours but only because I took a few breaks and left it running) but the experience alone makes me want play through again to see how far I could get on a run without dying. In many ways it’s also a very refreshing game who’s developers that know that it’s there to entertain. IE failing a puzzle doesn’t get you smashed by some check-point penalty, you just pop to where the puzzle you died at started. Each puzzle can be completed in less than 5 minutes so it’s easy to get sucked into playing the whole game in one sitting. There are quite a number of puzzles though that are head scratchers and you may have to give a room a few once overs to check for things you may have mistaken for scenery that are actually vital puzzle pieces. Be forewarned by the way, there is no tutorial, so just remember that CTRL is your use/grab/do things button and that some puzzles or areas may require some experimentation. The controls are so simple though that there’s really no need for any form of guidance. Basically, if it’s there and you are able to interact with it (or it react to you), then you’re supposed to use it.

In terms of plot, it’s vague and ends on a peculiar note, yet somehow that notion didn’t really take away from the game at all. It kinda reminds me of old school arcade games; you have no idea what is going on or why it’s happening, you’re just there and having a good time. I won’t spoil the ending but it took a pretty bizarre turn and I’m not quite sure what to make of it really. I’m sure you can use it as some metaphor to spice up whatever gamer-cocktail party you attend.

I’m just gonna gush here for a bit about the atmosphere, art, and ambience. It actually made me a little paranoid playing the game. I didn’t know what to expect so I ended up cranking the volume to listen for things that might turn the corner on me outta nowhere. Each area is unique and the art is so good I’ve considered making several areas of the game my screen saver.

Possibly one of the best mech games I've ever played. Customization isn't as indepth as the Armored Core series, but the online play is perfectly balanced and flows great. Plus its FREE.
