To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to play Garen. His playstyle is extremely complex, and without a solid grasp of the undying most of the Decisive Strikes will go over a typical player's head. There's also Garen's Courage, which is deftly woven into his champion quotes and jokes - his personal philosophy draws heavily Demacian literature, for instance. The Garen mains understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of the lore, to realize that they're not just righteous - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Garen truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the great line Garen yells as he ults, "DEMACIA!!!," which itself is a cryptic reference to the country he is sworn to protect. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated Darius mains scratching their heads in confusion as Riot Ezreal's genius unfolds itself on their monitors.
