This game is a joke, the amount of time they've renamed this hacker sausage fest is ridiculous. Filled with bugs, clunky movements, unrealistic game mechanics, anybody who recommends this game slap them in the face because they have no idea what a good game is.

Early Access Review
Review Update:

DayZ Standalone is a post-apocalypse open world game. DayZ has no main objective to complete and no set way that you should play it. Will you be a Hero or a Bandit? You start off by spawning in with your t-shirt and pants with nothing but a road flare and a bandage in your pockets on the verge of starvation your only goal is to survive. Whether it be from the walking dead or the living.

Yes, the game is in alpha and yes it does still have bugs but that's what you technically agreed to upon purchasing the game. Not to mention a message pops up everytime you run the game telling you that it's a game currently in developement and bugs are likely. Games arn't made over night and those of you rating down because of bugs aren't truly experiencing what DayZ is about gameplay wise with others.

I last reviewed DayZ Standalone on August 26 2014, I'm guessing i had around 200 - 300 hours played at the time of that review and i strongly recommended the game to others. The game at the time was very basic with little variety to weapons, ammo and gear. Not to mention bugs that players exploited for in-game advantages as they still to today (Will get to that soon). Back in the day, bugs such as seeing through walls, running through walls (Zombies), and gas stations blowing up upon player spawn/getting within 200 meters of a gas station. All of which have been fixed for the most part. No vehicles were in the game at this point as well as events i.e Helicopter Crash Sites/Police Car Crashes which later came in on patch .45 i believe.

Eventually players grew tired of having to run around a vast map, upon requests from the community, more weapons have been added to the game since development started as well as vehicles. The first of these vehicles being a large cargo truck (V3S) and eventually later on added 3 more options for vehicles (Civilian Sedan, Offroad hatchback and Transit Bus) Making a total of 4 current in-game vehicles you can put together with more to come in the future.

Currently i have 2,000+ hours on the standalone game and i can still say i strongly recommend this game. Some bugs are annoying such as dying by running down stairs, but it honestly RARELY happens as it's fairly easy to bypass by WALKING. Floor Clipping isn't an issue my friends nor i have experienced in months. Currently a major bug in the game in people exploiting duplicating gear, which again could be avoided if players decided to play the game how it was meant to be played.

The game does currently have frame rate issues only in large cities or when you come across a large base as loot does strain the servers. Brian Hicks and the rest of the dev team have released a youtube video showing frame improvement on the new renderer set to release with the .60 patch. But people must realize that with a new renderer coming in, more bugs will appear. We're still far away from the official launch of DayZ Standalone but i'm willing to journey with the devs to the games completion.
