Official game servers are trash.

About every 15 minutes there is server wide ~ 60 second lag spike if you play on an older server (game mechanic) and additional 2-3 second lag spikes in between. Players imprint their dinos every 8 hours but with the lag, the server pushes back the timer to 8 hours 30 minutes. It means players are force to lag for 30 minutes out of every 8 hours. This is even worst on extinction map servers.

Despite game taking 274 GB (with all expansions and DLC) it's very unoptimized. After logging onto the game, your base can take 30 or 60 seconds to load.

The more players that log onto the same server the higher your ping. If there are 20+ players on the same server your ping spikes up to 100 ms from 40 ms. If 40+ players are on, ping spikes to 200+ ms with occasional rubber banding issues and servers has a tendency to crash.

Game has a lot of bugs and exploits. Expect them to be fix in 1 to 2 years.
