I was young, i was still looking at life was, played it as a demo when it came out thanks to 2010's toonami and then life changed. suddenly i feel like this game predicted life but hey, its got a gun threatening mechanic!

So im a little perplex to give this game a review but i feel like i have to do this or else my mind will become deader than the game "serena" on steam which im surprised no one speaks about even though its a short indie game on steam that was about a girl killing her husband and burning the cabin with his remains inside.... ANYWHO

When i saw this game in the trailers i was very much overjoyed because i played dying light one and did that little cool phone app they put in the game (which was a cool addition like how gta 5 did a phone app with the same thing). I even bought the DL1 on a terrible pc with little to no great graphics, i had a bargain bin pc but the game was amazing.

when i had money for DL2 i bought it with the intention of playing it all the time, with what i played on a buggy laptop was doable but it seemed off since the story was overwhelming and had a lot of turns. until i could afford a big tower, the game seemed to be much funner with great graphics and a great fps (never could play a game at 60 fps in my life). This was until i went further into the game. When i went passed the checkpoint of villedor (well i went to the abandoned tunnel from the highway and sided with the survivors) something seemed off. I learned more of the story that had more holes than a a show called " are you smarter than a 5th grader". without spoiling to much of the story it seemed that guns were hiding through a grind system (i don't like that) ammo was a difficult latter because you needed to unlock caches to get at them while in the zombie horde. you also had the peace keepers who were more like bullies to the poor. renegades seemed even more dumb. the only faction worth while is the survivors.


im getting ahead of myself, the story is much like the FF13 game, where snow kills a kids mom on accident and the kid is all like "IM GONNA KILL YOU SNOW FOR REVENGE"

um yeah that is this game but you have "IM GONNA SAVE MY SISTER FROM YOU WALTZ" which if you have played ff13 you can OBVIOUSLY SEE that this is exactly the story angle (might i add that ff13 story is kind of ass).


COMBAT:
although it is ok, the more you kill these zombies when you get a high level.... it seems so disappointing like im wiping the boogies of the zombies i killed.

mod the weapons and kill the zombies, i am surprised you cant even fix the weapon yourself and have the clerks fix them for you for a price like REALLY?

Gun play just seems like your on your phone playing call of duty, like its that bad.
blocking and performing moves to kill raiders or zombies is clunky still and i find it hard to believe that the renegads have no guns but bows and arrows...... even though they came from a compound you get at the end of the game that probably would have stockpiled weapons.

CRAFTING
what can i say its like grocery shopping, Aiden needs his meds so you need to find medical items alot and craft them all the time. unless you horde med kits

Open-world wise?: its big and great for parkour stunts with your friends i guess

overall i give this 6/10 even though DL1 is wayyyyy better than this and the dialogue is so much better (some npcs and people from the side quest are not good but they do try) and the story is ACTUALLY a story not a " excuse to go to villador" type of story.

If this game makes me addicted to base building and crafting weapons while killing cannibals and all of the other hooplah, definitely worth it.
