What you see is what you get.

9 skins... + the pre made apoc skin for ur robo doge
seriously? no skins for DLC guns??? only skins for vanilla game weapons??????

not to mention the skin system is so poor.
Like, you have the equipment/attachment location for "skins" in EVERY SINGLE GUN!! BUT ONLY 9 GUNS CAN USE THEM!
Do not get this pack if you are going to main DLC weapons (Which is like everyone in this game)

Long story short, when they say it is "EA" THEY MEAN "EA".

This game is very brutal, its as if elden ring and GTFO collaborated.
Me and my friend get smashed if we fight too many enemies or 1 single big chonky guy with a chonky 50. cal SCAR...
It pisses us off so badly that we return the next game and shoot all infantry we can find and somehow evac...

But yes, this game is very rough, they even say so in the first video clip on the store page.
There are a few (a lot) of things i would like to see in this game in the future, but sadly steam reviews is not the place to put it, but their discord is! :D

Yea... A review at the 2 hour mark of a game... wonderful right? If you dont want to read everything, its more like a rant about the lack of QoL features and clunky controls coupled with an ineffective tutorial.

The game itself is really good and not a style you see very often. I like all of it.

The only thing i dislike so far are the clunky controls and sloppy menu, coupled with the tutorial? I've spent my first 2 hours and 30 minutes trying to figure out how to even move my city. I havent even won any battles yet... but i could just be bad ):

First, The tutorial... is what i would like to talk about, but no really, First : Controls ;

The controls for navigating the menus is simple and easy, no problem there.

Combat, Also really easy. might take a little getting used to. One thing that does annoy me though, is the fact that when you use a hot key to select a pilot, you have to DESELECT HIM, meaning you have to press that same button or select that same pilot to DESELECT them. Like, you can just "Right click" or press "Esc"...
Yes, Yes i know it sounds petty, but there has to be an easy and fast way to deselect a pilot.
You have no idea how many times "I" get caught moving the wrong mechs because of this.

Menu controls, The menu is SEVERELY lacking, little to no context, few explanations, just buttons and switches which act as buttons. No quit button either, you have to press "Esc" while in the menu to leave.... Like why???? I mean yea sure, have that feature, but you need a button for people to visibly see. I got lucky pressing "Esc" by accident, i would have been forced to "Alt F4" or close it down by closing its tab if i didnt find that out.

Lastly for this section~ The hanger
You have your station, you need to repair it... how? it doesnt tell you... what are these blue and yellow things? are those my resources? ahh that must be... wait... no? Upgrade? not repair? where is the repair button? what does this 65% mean? ahh, that must be efficiency...
Yea, the only things mentioned about this is in the "Encyclopedia". It tells you what the green and red number % mean, and what each "Segment/Section" does.
Rather handy... right? would be AMAZING IN THE TUTORIAL!!!

Next ~

Learning Curve~

Some games do indeed have BRUTAL learning curves for newbies, but most of the time, they have a fully fleshed out or decent tutorial to assist with said difficulties... Not this game, you have 1 switch to toggle in the starting menu which enables the tutorial... which is litterally just like 5 pop-up windows telling you how to play... I mean yea sure, thats fine and all... but please actually tell me useful mechanics while your at it, not just tell me that A, B, C & E are important mechanics which are supported by module D.
How does that help me?

The game does however give you an encyclopedia and bestiary plus other pop ups when you open each tab/module and do something. but they dont explain too much, they dont even show you "How" you're meant to do something. It tells you "you must turn the reactor on through the equipment bench"... IT TOOK ME 10 MINUTES TO FIND THAT BENCH... IT WAS INFRONT OF ME IN THAT VERY MODULE... No where, and i mean NO WHERE does it mention where or what an equipment bench is...
Yes, i could have missed it due to all the reading and i MAY have glossed over/ past it. But if its mentioned just once, then there is a problem.

TLDR; Tutorial is all text boxes, they do a rather bad job at being a tutorial.

Next~

Mechanics~

So, you have mechanics which you need to interact with in order to play the game, just like any other game.
I am struggling with trying to move from my starting point. I have sat in the same spot for 60 days, I am rich, I don't know what im doing, I think i have repaired my station?
Yea, its not intuitive, it needs a lot of TLC and just as many QoL features/changes.

I love this game, its cool and fun... But i have spent my first 2 hours trying to figure out how to even play the game properly. Look, Its a good game, it just needs a bit of work here and there to iron out the issues. I will change this review into a positive one, once the adequate QoL features are added

If the devs read this review, please comment and i will help give you some ideas to fix ALL the problems i mentioned. I like this game and plan on playing for MANY MANY more hours.

The game has no recent activity and I can only assume its been forgotten or "Finished".

The game is frustrating... Game balance is WAYYY OFF ):

To summarise.

You play a bomber plane, you control your crew within said plane to complete a missions + side objective.
Navigation is predetermined in the early/low crew skill stage of the game, this means you are forced to fly longer routes. This isnt a game play problem, just annoying that i need to spend an extra 5 minutes because it took me along a longer path.

Damage... Your gunner are ♥♥♥♥, like, they actually SUCK, you would think that a trained crew would know how to use turret... you would, wouldn't you? but these guys dont, your gunners look like they are drawing in the sky with the bullet tracers. unless your gunners have the "Focus" skill, it will take them a while to kill anything.
The enemies on the other hand, they hit 90% + shots on your bomber, i mean, yea you are flying in a straight line. but still... It sucks. Next, are armored or larger fighters, they either sit below, behind or infront of your plane, shooting you until either you die, or they need to reload. Yes, you do have guns in those directions, but it will still take your gunners over 5 seconds to kill that plane, and thats if they dont run away.

For context, i got sick of these suicide missions. Where you have a skilled crew and semi maxed out plane, but you die, so your crew and bomber are reset, but the difficulty doesnt go down. this means you are stuck in one way missions >:

After a few of these missions i got sick of it so i got some hacks and just maxed everything out.
As it turns out, even with maxed out components, frames, guns, engines, etc. It doesnt mean anything.
The most useful upgrades are ones which add more ammo to your guns, and the "Systems". every other upgrade does nothing aside from look good and add weight.
"Armored frame" whats that?
"lightweight frame" ahhh, you mean, "Indestructible frame".

Yes, with the guns, there is some strategy to what type to use and where to use it, but it doesnt mean anything if the gunner cant hit the planes or dies to a fighters nearly 100% accuracy.

Another things that i ABSOLUTELY HATED, was how if 1 of you landing gear was destroyed, your crew & plane essentially had a 50% chance of returning alive, even if you landed at the air field.
It doesnt matter if every other part of your plane was at full health, if even ONE gear was gone, then chances are your crew wont return alive.
And dont even get me started about losing both your gears...
I have never raged at games so hard until my crew died from a stupid mechanic such as this one.

I also had problems with the "navigation planner" guy, he sits at his post and creates way points for you to follow. if your plane goes through a cloud, he wont ever see the ground, even after you leave the cloud.

"Medium Alt? No clouds? No Enemies? well, i can't see the ground, so i don't know where we are"

I. HAVE. NEVER. RAGED. SO. HARD. BEFORE.

TLDR:
The game has been forgotten about and lacks a significant amount of polish, not even worth buying on sale.

great game i do recommend you play this asteroid style game... its just as much fun as the first versions :D

i really love this game as well as everything that you can do, the only reason i play this is simply because you can make a massive snake that shreds enemeis or a massive f*cking grenade shell that just keeps exploding and lights up the entire screen or if you like to be lazy and kill yourself you have the vortex which is like a vacum cleaner <:

that build is my fav <:

hope you guys consider playing this game as i look forward to the MP score board coming soon
