Since /r/gaming has spent the last few weeks discussing Sid Meyer's Civilization V here, I figured this would be the best place to ask. I've never been one for strategy games, but I recently picked up Galactic Civilizations 1 and 2 from the Steam store. Turns out I find myself easily staying up until 5 AM with no sense of time when I get into a game, and its made me consider what other games are out there. Unfortunately being extremely new to the genre, I have no idea where to start. My question for you guys is, what exactly makes Civilization V the "end all" strategy game and how does it actually differ from other games on the market?
