Early Access Review
Really cool, unique game with virtually endless replayability.
Very much early access/in ongoing development, far from perfect/complete.. but the framework is strong and the concept compelling, with tons of potential if the devs stay on the right path of progress. So far they have done well to actually listen to player feedback and evolve the game accordingly, for the most part.

Try it out, it's free to play. Be warned of the learning curve, but that's a huge part of the fun for me.

The only catch is that you're limited to one character slot and 'normal' dungeons in the f2p version, but it's still at least enough to see if you like the game/want to buy it for full access and 9 character slots. Had fun for 30 hrs before deciding to buy. Kept my original character and tried all of the other classes on a 2nd steam account so I wouldn't have to delete the original character on my main account to try them out before buying the full game.

See you in the dungeons.

If thy soul be dark, and thou wishes to darken it further... then play this game for 1000 hrs.
Dark/10 would commence the darkening again.

SHORT VERSION OF REVIEW:
This is a great game. The only way a person could really dislike this game is if they don't give it enough of a chance (this is one of those games with quite the learning curve), or if it's simply just not the type of game that suits your taste. An absolute blast and good-looking for a low budget indie game, if you like medieval combat and hilarious voice acting, and a challenging but even more-so rewarding combat system, this is the game for you.

INFORMATION ON CLASSES:
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare has 4, well-balanced classes that allow for a wide variety of playstyles per person. There are 2 heavily armored classes, the Knight and the Vanguard, and there are 2 light armor classes, the Man-At-Arms and the Archer.

The Knight class is the most heavily armored class (which means most HP) with a variety of deadly, high damage hammers, axes, swords, and flails (ball and chain) of both the one and two-handed variety, at his disposal.

The Vanguard, noticably less armored than the knight, specializes in polearms, with all of his weapons being very lengthy and high-damage. Swords, bardiche, halberd, billhook, variety of thrusting spears, polehammer; with these weapons, the vanguard class allows you to stay out of reach of your opponents attacks whilst you seemlessly decapitate them, whereas the Knight class's weapons force you to get up close and personal. The Vanguard is the only class that can not equip a shield.

The Man-At-Arms; master of evasion, equipped with the unique dodge ability that, if timed well, can evade an enemy's attack with ease, while simultaneously opening an opportunity for a counter attack. The Man-At-Arms is equipped a variety of one-handed swords, axes and hammers (the same weapons as the Knight's secondaries), as well as a two-handed quarterstaff. The MAA's lack of HP is made up for by his speed and agility that, if utilized properly, can overwhelm any class.

And finally the Archer... those pesky archers... with a weapon choice between bows, crossbows, and throwing spears/javelins of varying speeds and damage, the archer can range and pick off their opponents, especially those who are wounded or distracted. On the flip side of their ranging abilities, the archer is at a disadvantage in melee combat due to its very low-damage melee weapons and minuscule HP.

GAME MODE INFO:
Chivalry offers a variety of official game modes including but not limited to; Team Objective (within this game mode there is a wide variety of objectives that vary between defense and offense, Ex: Tainting the enemy's water supply by dumping a cart-load of corpses into it.), Team Deathmatch, Last Team Standing, and Free-For-All. There are also dueling servers available for sharpening up on your skills. In team-based game modes, you have the option of siding with the Agatha Knights (blue, gold, white), or the Mason Order (Red & Black). The Mason Order, once part of Agatha, are a rebelling force fighting for freedom of Agatha's rule and fighting for power.
