This game does its hardest... to not be a factory builder. Seems odd right? thats where the marketing for it went but everything related to automation/building is horrible. nothing lines up, hills and rocks/trees/shrubs are actually an obstacle you have to plan around for building, you can only carry raw materials so latter buildings that are expensive take most of your inventory to make, and when you create platforms so you can have your buildings on a grid, belts will not connect when you place splitters close to machines. The building gui shows it has plenty of space and goes from yellow to green, but you cannot connect blets to it because its too close. why? some people may say the bad building is part of the first-person camera but that is not the case. voxel based factory builders such as fortresscraft evolved or modded minecraft actually are able to have good experiences despite the lack of an overhead view. satisfactory suffers from the dev's inability to fix common annoyances that have been in the game for YEARS.

The game's biggest sin is that you have to repeatedly copy builds, and it provides a solution to let you copy/paste builds, except that solution is so useless that you cannot fit anything within the bounds of a blueprint. The game also has some exploration and respawning enemies for some reason that are not a real threat, and they just camp nodes and dont come back if you place a drill on the node. why do they even exist? in factorio biters exist to give you a reason to automate defenses, its part of the factory. here? random one-off enemies are just annoying and dont even provide any new gameplay elements because theyre so easy to kill. and when I say "one-off" I really do mean it. there might be a single enemy guarding a resource node and you whack it a few times and it falls over. was this needed? on a similar note the terrain is huge, but uninteresting. there is no logistics challenge in paneling over a hill to avoid having to build on slopes so why are they there? to annoy the player? to push all players towards building in the sky to make it easier?

my final gripe is there is no good way to transport goods long distance. trains and trucks exists but to build the infrastructure to use them you must first go out and belt materials back to your base from far away, thus removing the need for trucks or trains. it is far simpler and cheaper to just use the highest tier belt you have and have it span from your central base to the new resource as you go out to investigate your ping for it.

TL;DR this game doesnt know what it wants to be. it has very little factory-building elements(just the bare minimum) and has combat and exploration that take time away from building the factory for no reason. do not buy. the devs clearly sell aesthetics over substance, and for a game that is over 5 years old, shows they really dont care about making the game fun. just making it look nice.

This game is 1:1 craftopia, which itself was a mobile game. A ripoff breath of the wild with random "crafting" thrown in. The "dungeons" are lame and a straight walk to the end with next to no loot. they shouldnt exist. The player character also does damage for some reason when the game is supposed to be about battling with pals. This game has the craftopia automation system but pals do it instead of random machines.

The game is barely a game, and has little gameplay involved. Best wait 2-3 years for them to actually invent a gameplay loop, because right now its acutally just craftopia. FYI all the mechanics in this game (including the creature capturing) are present in craftopia. The devs have shown that after multiple years they still cannot make a real game.

honestly one of the worst games I've played. Its a repurposed mobile game and it keeps all of its mobile elements, the gameplay has almost nothing to do, and the "automation" is so jank and useless that it might as well not exist.

the best way to sell this game is: the devs play their own game. not play-test their own game, but they actually enjoy the creation they have made. this means they see and feel all the frustrations players feel, even small ones, and continually update the game to improve those. compared to other titles in the genre, this is a masterpiece, honed since like 2014 or something into a game I cannot find a single fault with. the devs really do just play their game and change every little thing that "feels bad". its wonderful.

Do not buy this game. The entire game can be laid out as follows: you reel in items from the sea. You then build upgrades to food, water, and resources. this takes about 2 ish hours if you're new. From that point on you sail to island completing various trivial tasks that do not accomplish anything other than coordinates that point you to another island so you can do it again. There is nothing interesting on these islands. The game is a scavenger hunt, and once you get the engines, you've essentially completed the game.(about 3hrs of content)

TL;DR :
This game has almost no content and is just a scavenger hunt where you get to wait 15 mins in between searching.

poor gameplay. This is what happens when your product's early access starts as "terraria, but not". Ive restarted a few times and beaten the game multiple times, but in the end its not a good game. I had to install mods to get content that was not years old, and even the largest, most popular mods were disappointing.

The game is terraria, if your character had to hop saves just to access new ores. This doesnt really change gameplay and the random generation of weapons make most of them feel the same. dont buy, just mod terraria instead.
