Early Access Review
I have not had a good story told to me by a game in a long time. Advanced Post-Processing, templates, and assets have made game development smoother & easier these days, but I feel like companies have gotten lazy because of that.

But this game is quality. Quality story, the voice acting is quite good, and it covers even your own custom characters after you've completed the linear prologue. The procedural generated events and missions on top of a layout of scripted missions and main missions keeps the universe alive and helps with supply logistics for players that like to stockpile and dominate.

The badge and perk system for both the captain and your officers feels well done, feels like real progress. Put together with building better ships and upgrading/fabricating better parts, you feel like you are a star in a moving lively universe, out to actually make your own story and difference in the game. That is something games sorely need these days...

Amazing game, I'm still at the beginning of my journey. The only thing I think I could say for cons is maybe more availability of bigger ships? Like... Genesis being the say all, end all? I crave to see and pilot some ship models like the later ones in Eve Online. However, this game is still 20/10 in my book.

20/10 I recommend.

9/10

IF YOU ARE READING THIS IN 2020, drop what you are doing and PLAY THIS! ESPECIALLY with friends!!! This game has come so far, the devs shower it with love! It feels like a full game now that shouldn't be in Early Access. I'd pay more.

- PROS
. Completely customizable Bases
. Completely customizable Vehicles + multi-seating for friends or girlfriend/wife to ride in.
. Completely customizable Capital Vessel Ships with interstellar travel.
. Vehicles can "magnetize" or dock to your ships and be carried through space.
. New "Energy Shields" module for your ships
. Vast & very appealing environments & space to explore without feeling repetitive or bland.
. Hectic weather features and environmental Hazards.
. Day/Night Cycle. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
. Abundant crafting.
. Host your own server or join others or just play single player offline or LAN co-op.
. Great new complete animations for everything.

- CONS (more nit-picky than major)
. Lack of intelligent interaction beyond running or hostility with animals in proximity (they don't circle you, stare at you, swarm or anything else interactive really until you shoot at them or almost brush up against them)
. The "intelligent" A.I. do weird, dumb things sometimes like walk off a stairway when not in combat
. Currently, A.I. without ranged weapons ALL chase you in a zigzag line. No different strategies or mindsets. Kinda weird.
. When you're in your ship or house, sometimes the color of the sky gleams off your weapon & you even when you're not in the lighting of any windows & it's off-putting (I can glow or reflect green/blue when my lights are all red)
. In-flight combat, enemies with ♥♥♥ ballistic weapons seem to always have perfect aim, hard to "dogfight" them in the air/dodge. Polarized energy shields has made this bearable. Would be better if there was an A.I. difficulty slider for the server or session like in Arma 3.

All in all, still, this game is an unbelievable fun experience. Join us.

-This game is Split-Screen Amazingness.
-There are 15 difficulty settings.
-There are 3 hostile factions with a full array of different enemies/vehicles for each faction
-Different Bosses & mini-bosses for each faction
-The highest difficulty setting is called "The Inner Circle of Hell"
-Did I mention this was an awesome Split-Screen game?

It is truly great to have something like this on a single Laptop screen I can take and put friends on with anywhere. This is my go-to game for road trips & entertainment in the back of my family's SUV & when I have friends over when they don't want to play co-op online with their own PCs. I LOVE this game for that as it is hard to find fully-functional, fulfilling, split-screen games on PC these days.

-On single player? This game has also taken a lot of my time away because the grind doesn't feel repetitive at higher levels.

Sure, if you're just finding these things that look like research capsules to unlock "research points" in maps & you've chosen just doing easy stuff to unlock some new vehicles/mechs/weapons to work on, it's OBVIOUSLY going to be repetitive and feel like an old grind, but that's because you wanted it to be like that.

When all the CHAOS ensues after picking a difficulty 8 mission or higher? NO MISSION HAPPENS THE SAME WAY especially with online multiplayer! Awesome stuff happens. Funny stuff happens. Weird stuff happens. There's bosses. It's always something new. & for the record....There are FIFTEEN difficulty levels. 15. The highest difficulty you can play is called "THE INNER CIRCLE OF HELL." I've never played another game with that many difficulty settings or a name for a difficulty setting like that hahaha. Have you? That's pretty out-of-the-box & should tell you how funny/awesome these devs are. And if you're looking for a game that can really test your mettle, well...You found one. Good luck!

Friends, ignore my low hour count on steam. I've invested atleast 5 years into this game in the standalone version.
This is a fun wonderful game that I only have good things to say about. The only negative things I'd ever say about Mabinogi were community-based. (E.G. trolls, afkers, bullies - jerks you find in a lot of places)

Mabinogi is probably the most diverse anime-themed game I know. With a fantastic gigantic fashion clothing & armor system where you can express yourself in anyway you imagined yourself. The talent, combat, exploration, and life activity skill system is always adjustable to whatever you want & anytime you want. Regardless of whatever you choose to begin as in Mabinogi, you can change anytime during the game and begin working on something else while retaining any experience and skills from the previous class/talents you used. This game is also unique due to the fact that you can use Music Markup Language to write songs in-game and play them in-game on a variety of instruments from the lute to the mandoline to the piano to the electric guitar.

It's a fun ride when you're playing it together with friends you know on there. Having a huge friendly community makes the experience inside this game ever better! And it's a shame the community suffered many declines in the past years, but it's being revived in 2016. I've met a lot of friendly people and seen a lot of new beginners finally flowing through the northern towns in the Uladh continent as well as explorers flying throughout Iria again. And I'm glad. This game needs some attention.

Haven't given this game a try? It's a fun free-to-play without any attached strings. Only thing essential in the Cash shops are the pets, but new players get permanent flying and ground mountable pets on their first login anyways!

So what's the harm in trying? Do it. You might find yourself enjoying it for a week, if not more.
