I've spent most of my life playing video games. Throughout those years, only four video games have managed to make me cry.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky
Silent Hill 2
Lil Gator Game
and now I Wani Hug that Gator!

A crossover between Dredge and Dave the Diver, two of the best games of 2023, AND it's free?

I love you, Mintrocket

One of the worst games I've ever played, partly because of the gameplay, partly because of the story, partly because of the drastic fall in quality from the first game.
You'll spend a LOT of time getting sniped through glass by enemies you can't see who have instant reflexes and perfect aim to the point where missions become frustrating trial and error attempts that lack the fast pace and excitement of the first game.
The story is the complete opposite of the first game. The first game had a simple story with surreal elements, but this game's story is almost incomprehensible. It jumps across space and time to different character's viewpoints like it has trouble staying focused on one single plot thread, with it all ultimately leading to an ending that can't help but feel underwhelming.
Hotline Miami is one of my favorite games, but this game is thoroughly disappointing
Music's still good, though.

Played the hell out of this on mobile and was delighted to see it ported to Steam. This was the first primarily text-driven game I played through, and I really enjoyed having my imagination fill in the gaps. It made the game feel way more immersive than it would have if it flaunted the latest and greatest graphics that only an RTX 4090 could manage. The game also has a great sense of humor, reliably making me chuckle at every stop or settlement. And any game that includes an Evil Dead reference immediately gets bonus points in my book.

Can't recommend this game enough.

Why the ♥♥♥♥ did nobody tell me FANCY PANTS got a Steam game?

Yes, it's kinda short, but playing Fancy Pants is like soaking in a warm bath for me and I desperately want to see Brad Borne continue the series, so please buy this game.

Legitimately the funniest and most cleverly written game I've played in a long time. Really awesome soundtrack by Ryan Ike as well. Really, the only flaw I have with this game is that it ended.

What I would give to have The Kingdom of Loathing remade as a single player game in this style

West of Loathing was one of the funniest, most cleverly written games I've ever played with an awesome soundtrack, and Shadows over Loathing is a step up in almost every way.
The world is bigger, there's more gags to find, the combat system is more interesting, the story is more engaging and intriguing, and the soundtrack by Ryan Ike is WAY better than it has any right to be for a comedic game about stick figures.
The only part of Shadows over Loathing that isn't a complete step-up from West of Loathing is how comedic it is. The story takes itself more seriously than West of Loathing did, but I suppose that's to be expected. Lovecraft-style cosmic horror in the roaring 20's doesn't have as much inherent comedic potential as the wild west.
But don't get me wrong. Shadows over Loathing is still a VERY funny game and 1,000 times more worth your time than $70 AAA slop like Forspoken.
Buy this game. You won't regret it.
