This game is complete garbage

I wanted to like the gameplay, I wanted to like the puzzles, I wanted to like the art style; but all I got was brief snippets (about 30 seconds) of cool aesthetics hidden under 15 minutes of tedious, pointless puzzles that manage to be both easy AND frustrating. Also, the camera in the tapes (the only bit that looks pleasing) controls about as well as an NES bootleg copy of Octodad would, making the experience of the tape environments too headache-inducing to enjoy

I'm glad I only paid $1 on Humble Bundle for this video game equivalent of waterboarding

Pretty much every person who has something bad to say about this game is some arrogant Borderlands 2 fanboy who thinks that game is superior because it has shiny graphics. Borderlands 1 is a masterpiece and people shouldn't discourage other from buying the game just because they prefer another game in the series. Every Borderlands game is great and worth checking out, but I personally feel that Borderlands 1 is the best of them all if people are willing to look past how dated it looks. I got this game on Xbox 360 back when it released and logged thousands of hours because every playthrough of this game feels unique due to the randomized looter-shooter aspect, so it actually looked WORSE than the Steam version! Buying Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel, while these are excellent games on their own, will not give you the original experience, so just try it out and see if it's to your liking.

Overall a beautiful and intriguing experience. Story was interesting and dark, environments were creepy and unsettling, and the game never overstays its welcome by being too long. Definitely worth the price, but beware if you have issues with flickering lights and understand that your framerate WILL take hits during the first 5-10 mins of gameplay from the many shadows onscreen.
