Currently I cannot play a single match. I have even tried booting up a match Solo and I still cannot start a match due to the servers. I will give the game a few more days to hopefully push an update. Otherwise, I will be requesting a refund before I hit the 2 hours.

The Good: Amazing gameplay, fun lore, great replayability, and the devs.

The bad: Community managers, and the game is published by the questionable Playstation.

Monster Hunter has been one of my favorite series since I was introduced to it on PSP with Monster Hunter Freedom. My play time is a lie. I transferred my save from PS4 to Steam, and my real playtime is about 900 hours. One of the best game series ever!

Initially played for the "plot", but stayed for the actual plot.

Seriously though, this game is absolutely a joy to play. The art style is fun, cute and colorful. The gameplay is quite fun, but also punishing and challenging. I haven't played many bullet hell games, but managed to get through this game on Normal. The story is a lot better than I expected it to be. I honestly was expecting a bunny waifu game, but found a hidden gem of a game instead. 9.5/10 game for me!

Do yourself a favor and buy this game now!

Early Access Review
This game is possibly one of the greatest survival games I have played, which is amazing considering it is in Early Access and is only $20 for the plethora of content you get with it. This survival game has taken many aspects from other survival games that work, and have perfected it without all the nuances.

As a husband and father of a few ball gremlins that consume much of my time, Valheim is one of the best games at respecting the little personal me time I do have, while not making everything too simple and easy to accomplish. I had to retire other survival games just because I can't dedicate the same time I used to thanks to honey-do lists and entertaining the crotch fruit. In Valheim, I can play a quick 15-30 minutes, and feel like I have accomplished a lot. I don't have to worry about losing any progress by being away from the computer, as it is right where I left it. If a tool I was using breaks, I don't need to venture out on an adventure to collect more materials to fix them. Just simply go to a workbench, repair, and that's that. Crafting or building doesn't require an arm and a leg in materials either. And my favorite part, I do not need to constantly worry about eating or drinking to stay alive. Eating only benefits you, while not eating does not penalize you. I can happily do the tasks I want to do, whenever I want, without many other factors impeding on me.

The combat in this game isn't overly complicated, yet is fun and exhilarating for what it is. Weapons have either a primary or secondary attack, and then there is blocking and rolling for your defense. It is simple to learn, yet requires mastering for some of the enemies. Skills will only get you so far as well. Upgrading your gear is essential for taking on some of the more difficult enemies. I do not recommend taking on a troll with fisticuffs, it did not end well for me. I have only taken on two bosses so far, but both battles have gotten me more excited for what is in stow. They are not overly complicated with all these crazy mechanics, but are still fun, engaging, and challenging.

The different biomes and scenery are really beautiful. I am honestly flabbergasted that the developers were able to cram this game into just 1GB. I absolutely love exploring and finding beautiful sights to take screenshots of, down to exploring every nook and cranny to find the various dungeons to explore. Watching the sun set or rise is always a a sight to behold, whether your just chilling in your manner, or out traversing the seas. Weather in this game isn't a nuisance, and can create their own beautiful views as well. The way biomes seamlessly merge together is quite impressive too. It is not jarring like it can be in other games with generated worlds, where an icy biome can boarder a dessert. The two seeds/worlds I have played on are so well laid out, that I find myself constantly exploring when I originally set out on a specific task. It is easy to just get lost in the moment like. I compare getting lost in the moment to games like Breath of the Wild, it's just easy to do and it is not a bad thing either.

Setting up a server on my NAS was a breeze so my buddies and I can play together on the one night we are able to play together. Being able to turn PVP on and off in just a few seconds is one of the grandest features all survival games should have and strive for. No need to select or setup a PVP or PVE server when you can just change it mid game for those moments you need to duke it out Fight Club style.

All in all, I could keep clamoring about this game, but this review would turn into a novel. This survival game has taken many aspects from other survival games that work, and have perfected it without all the nuances. It is a game that respects your time, and rewards you quite well. I see this game being a game I put 100's of hours into, and I look forward to future updates.

Don't let the hours fool you, I have played the Halo games for 1,000's of hours on Xbox. There isn't much to say. The Halo games are just as much of a masterpiece on PC as they were on Xbox. 10/10

Now that MCC is done, this purchase is a steal at just $40. What are you waiting for?
