I've always been one of the folks who never understood the appeal of Fromsoft games. Be wary of a very steep initial learning curve, but as I realized, Fromsoft Games are difficult but fair. There is always a way to defeat a boss or some game mechanic that you're overlooking that can potentially make your gameplay better, easier and more fun.

After bungling around for 20h and hating everything, something finally clicked. I got better at the game and got taught how exactly some mechanics worked by a friend of mine, and then everything suddenly seems less daunting and less insurmountable. I went from dreading fighting difficult bosses and enemies to looking forward to it.

Elden Ring is a masterpiece. I loved GoW Ragnarok, but this... this is not just a video game. It's art. It's a video game that will live in the hall of fame for years and years, regarded as the kind of game that people look back fondly on and recommend. I highly recommend this to anyone who calls themselves a gamer. It's hard, its annoying, it's brilliant, it's mind boggling in its scope, a legendary tale.
