HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Yeah, it looks to me like they kinda drove themselves into a dead end with the way the first chapter ended. But I'm sure it's all just part of an elaborate show ment to keep our minds off of what they really have in store for us.

On the other hand, though, they did a great job making this first episode feel complete, like it ended the right way and there is nothing more to be expected form that fallen world that is just a simulacrum of what it once might have been. A world that rejected humanity even though it was the most important thing it had to serve and protect.
