I have played Duelyst 1, and around 100+ ranked games of Duelyst 2 at the time of this review.

It's a fundamentally good game in my opinion that has flaws that will probably kill the game.
- The card collection progress is horrible for any new player that isn't aiming for a specific meta deck to build for.
- The rewards for completing missions and hitting milestones is incredibly bad, and one spirit core (the average staple reward), will on average net you around 2% of a decent deck, in a nutshell, it will feel incredibly slow to build up a deck, let alone wanting to have one for every faction.
- Lack of gamemodes to cater to a wider audience, the only online gamemode tied to Duelyst 2 is a ranked ladder (this will probably change according to the devs' roadmap)

This game is still in beta, and the biggest flaws should be obvious to the developers.
Even with the prospected roadmap complete, I don't think this game will proliferate with the way the card collecting works, it has to change to cater to more players. The veterans and whales are probably not as affected, as they can tune 1-2 decks (or they just pay for orbs to get more decks to play with).

Even with Duelyst 1's gauntlet, it won't be enough, as the rewards were timelocked. There should be a better and more consistent way to grind more than 5 gold per 3 wins.

I can't ask for more in the current state because of its beta status, but I hope this game changes after the official release.

Insert garbage box-ticking review lol

Good base game with plenty of content for the price. There are also a handful of good mods that more or less doubles the content.

The developers had the very creative idea of stealing Melee's mechanics (and some characters) and adding Spark.

What is Spark?

Spark is a new mechanic that allows you to 0-Death someone as a true combo after fidgeting around with it for 5 minutes.
They should have picked some other game to plagiarize if they wanted to implement something like Spark.

I have never played a game I could truly call a masterpiece, until I stumbled upon this game. Comparing this to every other game I have ever played in my entire life, this is a true life changing experience on almost godly levels. I firmly believe that this is the pinnacle of human evolution, a result of billions of years of lifeforms mutating their DNA resulting in us humans. From the first speck of dust in the universe, a whole wide array of materials and matter was created, with the sole purpose of having a sentient, biological species create this saintly game.

Throughout the lifespan of the earth, which could be estimated to be around 4.5 billion years, us humans have only been around for 200 000 years. We were the only ones who could harness almost all forms of energy on this planet, with the final goal of creating Garfield Kart.

This will undoubtedly ascend humankind to the interstellar space age, where we will finally cement our existence to realms unimaginable today.
Being born in the age where this game exists has truly been a blessing beyond my own fragile mind. A true god would understand the capacity of goodness this is.

I truly believe that everyone that has not bought this game has only refrained from doing so because they don't believe they deserve such a virtuous product... No, describing this entity with a crude and unmannerly word such as "product" would be an insult to this prodigious and marvelous creation.

This is truly the peak of humanity.

There isn't a sliver of untapped potential within this masterpiece of a creation. The total ecstasy that you experience while processing only the surface of what the game has to offer is enough to satisfy the rest of ones life. The fissures of euphoria you will experience while playing this is otherworldly, it is undoubtedly a full body experience.

Oh why oh why must the dirty and filthy human race such as ourselves gorge in such a beautiful creation. What an outstanding world we live in.
