What is Gargantua?

Gargantua and Pantagruel are François Rabelais' philosophical works and masterpieces, which consist of the stories of a father and his son and are a very racy fantasy comedy.

Gargantua and Pantagruel have of five books:

Pantagruel (1532)
La Gargantua, usually Gargantua (1534)
Le Tiers Livre ("The Third Book", 1546)
Le Quart Livre ("The Fourth Book", 1552)
Le Cinquiesme Livre (Fifth book. It is controversial whether this book was written by Rabelais.)

It is also the name given to the black hole in the movie Interstellar.
